I don't see the big deal in us rejecting the merch. I'm not at all angry about it, I was mostly just annoyed to see the "Vault Secure" thing again.

Reject it all you want, but trying to demonize a bunch of merch is just stupid, no matter how much you might hate Bethesda.

I wonder if that vault-boy piece of shit (art) enters Toddys butt hole. I think it does and it remains plenty of room for that bottle too.

I really think that overreactin to a bunch of SWAG merch is kind of a braindead reaction.
Okay, the majority of us don't like what we've seen with the game, but these are just crappy promotional toys.
Besides, I like the Vault Boy bobble.

It looks pretty poor to me. I wouldn't want any of it on my desk. Was there any promotional material for POS?

Yes. Don't you remember? It was frikkin' hilarious

As for the blue colour; they could've at least made it Vault Cola colour

It's hardly important, but I would have been vaguely impressed if they had blue liquid in the bottle. Suspect it was because they wanted it to be drinkable they didn't, are there any blue soft drinks?
You have to wonder about that, journalists and non-alcoholic drinks aren't exactly a well known mixture. :)

Yes, I remember, but was wondering if others did.

Crappy merchandise can reflect badly on the likely treatment of a franchise. It is semi-official, unlike a personal joke. With so much energy devoted to spin and PR you would expect them to try to do things properly. I think they did put some effort into this, and it is still mediocre.

Pure jealousy, people want it but can't have it (well maybe except for the nuka cola bottle) and prehaps a little guilt since it is for Fallout 3.

On a different note - does anyone read PCZ, if so, what's the standard of journalism like in it these days? The magazine (for me) went downhill when it went 'nice' and got rid of stuff like Cruelty Zoo (evidenced by them going on to give stinking games high scores). Can we expect an anywhere near objective preview, with poignant questions being asked - or pure hype?
They have recently scored Halo 2 60, Shadowrun 58, Spiderman 3 42, so they don't always swallow the hype.

The advert for next months issue has a thumb nail of the 'please stand by' screen and the text reads;

Fallout 3 Just how good is Bethesda's radioactive RPG monster?? Big reveal!
Though there are Fallout fans there, but they also liked Oblivion (scored 95%).

In their freeplay section there's a bit about the Van Buren demo

It's a tantalising buggy taster that can only mean frustration for fans of the series worried about the direction that Bethesda may now take their favourite RPG.

Read into that what you will.

There is a blue Sprite called Sprite Ice Blue in China. It's not available in the US. It's "suppose" to be available in Canada. It was first released in Korea.

There was a red/pink Sprite too. I believe it was only released in China.

Thanks for that Requiem, certainly sounds like they have improved the magazine somewhat.

Giving Halo2 60% no doubt caused someone, somewhere to throw a chair... gutsy call, didn't the envelope contain enough green ? :)

I will wait for the inevitable scan's, but will probably buy that issue if it proves to be an informative & balanced article.

Nice

I thought most of the thread about the crappiness of the merchandise, not about "buying" magazines?
I know that magazines are bought by Exclusives, not by gifts.
