Penny Arcade comics end, a contest begins

^ I'm agreeing, number 9 is the funniest, but it's not laugh out loud funny. Frankly, I haven't laughed at a three-frame comic since I was very young reading Garfield and Dilbert. But #9 is a throwback to classic humor with the vault dweller straight man setting up the ghoul's punchline.

Actually when I made the crack about the power fist, it made me wonder if there is a puppet somewhere in the game.

the last comic wasnt really funny, i got pretty disapointed when I read the last one. I liked the first ones....really.
 
It honestly felt like they got bored with the vault almost instantly or just wanted an excuse to write a comic about a crazy guy with a killer hand puppet.

#9 was certainly the best and really the only one that even made me grin, though I thought leaving the vault was fine too.
 
I enjoy a lot of penny arcade's work, but these seemed very leased. No doubt contorting to Bethesda's marketing standards.

You know that this puppet man will be referenced in the game, right?
 
I liked the one with the ghoul the best. You know, the one that actually required you to know the story of Vault 12 to laugh hard.

The rest? Teh sux.
 
I thought the first one was funny. It set up the story well and left a lot of room for them to bring on the funny....but then they didn't. I generally think they are pretty funny, but these were bad.

Although stylistically PA's work is really good and smooth, the contents is just meh². It is as the ghoul says: "Coulda been better."

In all honesty: I could have done a better job than PA. If I get paid, I deliver top-notch work. :D
