People discuss KotOR 2

OK I recently re-installed KotOR 2 and started a new game.

I hate to admit it, but when I saw the yellow "STAR WARS" sign and heard the main titles music, something stirred inside me ("ah, memories..."). So I have to say, KotOR 2 lacks some must-have Star Wars elements. Although I still enjoy playing it much, it's just not the same as watching the movies and that sucks.

So I must say that it's not a proper SW game, but a good RPG. I suppose SW is too much about black & white world to tinker with.

Bioware shitty rpg design, forced (no pun intended) companions, lacklustre tactically deficient combat, linear story and too many scripted plays as companion x events. Makes for a good rpg?

yeah i hated forced companions, wanted to kill all those morons exept one of the alien guys.

Kotor 2 wasnt all that bad, wasnt that good either, btw it wasnt bioware it was obsidion or something.

if i had to rate kotor 2 i would give it 6/10 :o

Yes but Obsidian were using Bioware's engine and design.

There was a mod that added the Jedi Temple using modules from the cutscenes and others that had been redressed. Since the council chambers were never meant to be visited you could walk through the furniture, the modder couldn't change this at the time (probably still can't?) due to not being able to edit the walkmesh. That's how KotOR 2 feels, like a big mod where the modders lacking the source code and proper tools were limited to what they could or couldn't change.

I will admit that it's not fitted to Star Wars lore, but I can't agree with it not being a good game. It's like Gothic - you either hate it or love it. I love the dialogues (they make characters feel alive), the little depressive atmosphere and lots of freedom in quests, which are in at least decent amount. It fucking sucks that it has been rushed and therefore incomplete, but still, it can provide lots of fun (if you can overlook the crappy engine).

You don't like it - fine, but goddamnit, stop trying to force me into changing my mind. If I were to rate it, I'd give it an 8\10.

This is my last post on this matter, I'm tired of arguing over this.
