Petition: Release of Fallout design documents by Bethesda

..#200 baby

I think getting Beth to release this stuff would be like getting Lucas to come off the unreleased footage from the original trilogy. Very close analogy in the sense that we have an idea what's there, but at the same time we really have no idea what's there

/signed.

Reminds me a little bit of Postal 2.. "Would you please sign my petition?" - "Sign my damn petition!"

Oh, I think that Obsidian has the Van Buren and Chris Avallone concepts. But they can't publish it of course.

*hint* Obsidian have two unannouncments projects. Maybe one of them Troika PA RPG?

It's a snowball's chance in hell that this will do any good, but what the hell... signed.

Also, this is news to me:
(...)Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2(...)
The french guy actually wanted to make a sequel? Great...

I signed something...think it was the petition...or I sold my soul (again). Goddamnit! Btw, shame no one plays FOT online anymore, HPA would so totally crush you. : )

Tatnem!

IMO, there is no point in those petitions whatsoever, but signed anyway.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2
Its mistake. Interplay want develope Fallout for consoles, but no Fallout: BoS 2.

"This chapter in the Fallout franchise was confirmed and yet left in mystery after it was mentioned in a 2004 investor's call that a new Fallout was in development for consoles. The game is not a sequel to the adventure game Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, but other than that, no further details about this game were ever released, and the game is not expected to be in production any longer for PS2 or Xbox (if at all)."

It's not a mistake, work on FOBOS 2 started but was stopped after the poor results of the first.

Ah yes, as Chuck put it:
But "Brotherhood of Steel" still fits the theme of the game better than any other title. And like you're seeing in Dark Alliance ... it's less and less being called Baldur's Gate, and more and more being called Dark Alliance II. So we hope to do the same thing, build the brand off of Fallout and call it Brotherhood of Steel 2, 3, 5, 10, however many we end up doing. And the name "Fallout" will stay with the PC versions. We're only splitting off part of it for us, and bringing that world to console.

Just the one, chuck. Just the one.

I just realized consequence #2 of this petition. If we all (well, Fallout fans that actually care about the design docs being released) - sign it - that'll give Bethesda a reliable population count, thus if it's not what they want in profits (say multiply pop X 60 per game) then they will care less about the Fallout community then they did before!

That would probably help their PR indeed, but I doubt they'd do it as they are somewhat paranoid with the intellectual materials in their possession.
