maybe.

With Putin attempting to forcibly annex the Ukraine, as well as censoring anything he considers 'propoganda', I don't think having ties with his administration is a good thing.
Oh right lets totally alienate and antagonize a very dominant nuclear power in Europe, because thats totally the smart thing to do,

They should ask us for help, we have some experience with building walls and shooting people trying to cross it.

I'm not saying making enemies with them is a good idea, I'm simply saying don't support that kind of regime, and try and keep it under control.

Right, because there literaly can be no middle ground.

Either you're sleeping with Putin, or you're murdering him. Politics 101.

Russia expanding its influence isn't really going to benefit anyone in the long run but Russia.

>standing side by sides as allies is kneeling
More great wisdom from CT "Pew pew 9/10" Phipps
Trust me you'd be the one kneeling begging not to be drafted when your beloved Hilary cause an armed conflict with a nuclear power.

I volunteered for the military but wasn't allowed in to health issues.

As for armed conflict, do we believe Putin is really stupid enough to start World War 3 over opposition to military expansionism? Are we really so callow to let them just run low? Personally, I'm hoping to build bridges with Russia but that requires nations to stop acting like it's fucking 1930 and behave with respect to borders.

Hey! Like I do care. FOr me the USA is like Russia, just a differnt paint. It certainly makes no difference for Syrian farmers or the common Ukrainian. Infact, Russia is in my eyes even less of a problem, as you cant call them a global super power on the level of the US.

Says the ones implying having good relations with Russia (hell even just "not afraid of nuclear conflict") means bending down to them at everyturn.

No, but Killary was.
WAS
:D

But knowing Putin, having good relationships with him, does mean not criticizing his more controversial acts.

Economic sanctions seriously rocked Russia. It prevented the modernization of their military as well. An ounce of preventation and all that.

Personally, I'd prefer to work to bring in Russia to the economic fold of the world as sanctions often backfire (see Cuba) but Putin's grandstanding is ridiculous.

His annexation of territories certainly haven't benefited his nation.

To be fair, it's not like the US can give lessons in regards to respecting the sovereingnty of other nations, given recent history. Putin's annexations are worse, true, but still.

But yeah, WW3 is a complete no-go, folks. Get Fallout out of your head, that's fiction. Reality is that nukes killed any incentive for world powers to ever engage in large-scale military action towards each other, and economic interdependence did the rest. If Russia goes to war with NATO, its economy will tank, hard; it's incredibly reliant on selling ressources to Europe. And wars are often about economics first and foremost.

And I do believe Putin needs a compliant USA, and a weak NATO, far more than the US needs to have a buddy in the Kremlin. Putin gives no fucks about anyone, and has no friends. He's going to ditch whatever relations Trump builds with him as soon as it pleases him, and because the country is halfway to becoming a dictatorship, he's not being removed soon either.

Idiocy much? I just don't see why something Russia does in Ukraine or Crimea as worse then US politics killing literaly millions of people.
If we apply criticism, then we should be equal. Anything else is hypocritical. I am not a friend of Russia or Putin, but they are not the ones hacking the telephone of our chancelor.

I am not complaining about criticism, which has to be applied of course. I am complaining about a media that painted Putin like Hitler - which Hillary liked to do as well, if you remember. Considering how many people also called Trump 'Hitler', you should understand, why that comparision is totally bullshit.

Yes, the European Union has to keep a good relationship with Russia. But not because of some benolovence, but because it is a necessity.

Uh, did you quote the wrong person or something? I never even commented on the Ukraine conflict or it being worse than America and the post you quoted doesnt really have anything to do with yours.

Then where did I said "implying having good relations with Russia (hell even just "not afraid of nuclear conflict") means bending down to them at everyturn." ?
