Not sure what you mean.
I am just saying that that at the end of the day it is not really possible to say who's worse. It is a matter of persepctive. In eastern europe, most people will hands down say Russia is the worst thing in the world. The middle east like Irak or Iran? Probably the US. Albeit, it wasn't Russias foreign policy that bombed Serbia and scared the shit out of my family down there. But they do the same now in Syriah. But the US is also sending drone strikes all across the globe ... and ... so on ... and so on ...
That's the problem with comparing Russia and the US. They both have done some very horrorible mistakes when it comes to foreign nations.

Man, the Democrats must be furious at the electoral college system; this seems to be 2000 redux. According to the New York Times, Clinton leads the popular vote by 1.2%; this might change as results come in, but apparently California is one of the states that has late PV results, so it probably won't budge too much. But because Trump has a literally couple tens of thousands voters more in Wisconsin, Pennysylvania and (probably) Michigan, winner takes all.

No system is perfect, of course, and the EC is not the only system where such idiosyncraties can happen. But it's still weird to see the candidate that is actually less popular nationally not only win the executive but also take home the legislative branch, and soon the judiciary as well.

It's why my favorite electoral system for Head of State is France's. I understand the need for the legislative to represent local regions, but the executive should be the most popular option, period, with no regards for local representativity (which is the point of the electoral college).

Victoria Nuland orchestrates a coup in Kiev; Russia annexes the Crimea. US sponsors Assads opposition; Russia bombs the opposition and half of Syria with it. US gets praise and love;
Russia gets sanctions and accusations of barbarism and war crimes.

Eh, the Electoral College is working like it's supposed to.

It's meant so the voices of the Rural States can be heard. It's just a lot of people don't want those voices to be heard--not quite getting democracy requires everyone's concerns be addressed. The loss is the result of the DNC's strategy of treating 80% of the country as Oz.

A land you only visit after a tornado.

Yeah, I get that, but my point is more that this should be the job of the legislative, given that the Senate is custom-built to have smaller states still enjoy a voice in the government, and the House is also representative of rural areas to a degree (more and more since Republicans gerrymandered the living crap out of it, of course). And it's not like the legislative is powerless in the US either.

As it is, a (relatively) small amount of angry people decided over a greater number of others, and that never sits well me with. It doesn't sit well when such things happen here in Canada either, even if they favored a candidate I didn't dislike.

I mean, fair's fair, the system could easily have also backfired on Trump had he got more support in red states but allowed Clinton to win the three states that fell to him instead. But I think the EC is outdated, personally.

Yeah, well I am not happy with this or Bush Junior but living in Kentucky, I also know how the East and West Coasts would very much like to turn the place into The Hunger Games. The flyover states would exist to send food and be ignored save when you need a reality tv show.

There have been many times the Red States were the Blue States in just the past century too--it's just the issues have changed.

Depends what you mean. He's even talked about possibly using nukes in Europe, seems to favour sending groud troops to Syria & Iraq, about "taking out" Kim Jong Un, etc.

Have people actually been listening to what Trump has been saying?
And have you actually listened to what Hillary has said about attacking Iran and so on? While Trump has been talking of forcing NATO allies to step up to the plate and meet their quotas (2% defense budgets) so the US can stop playing world police. He also wants to stop intervening at every drop of the hat (see situations like Libya).

Now, all politicians are liars, obviously. So we'll have to see about that. But Clinton is buddy buddy with the war hawks AND is funded by the warring parties in the Middle East as well as by manipulative bastards like Soros, so I sincerely hope you can see where that was going...

Candidate who wants to do way worse than waterboarding in Guantanamo bay, and once said he wanted to ban all Muslims entering the US is more law and order and less warhawkish?
Jackbooted thugs with a badge are still law & order, friend.
And not all Muslims. His rich friends can still come. ;)

(Don't mistake me for a Trump supporter...)
