Post-Apoc Films

How many PA films can you name.

How many good post apocaliptic films can you name off the top of your head?

Off the top of my head I would say;

The Mad Max serise

Water world

Children of Men

28 days later

And thats just off the top of my head, looking for some new films to watch, any suggestions? =D

There's a French 60's movie about Paris that became a desert. It's actually really good in capturing the bleak desolation of the wasteland, but can't remember it's name. Probably french anyway:P

Ow and 28 weeks later, but it doesn't match up to it's predecessor.

edit: Threads also came to mind now. And the name of the french movie, Le dernier combat. ( the last combat/fight).

I thought "28 weeks later" was a horrible piece of shit. Those two ridiculously stupid kids didn't help either.

"12 Monkeys" is often regarded as a post apocalyptic movie, but not by me, though it may depend on how you interpret this movie really. It's a brilliant film anyway, so you should see it if you haven't.

If 28 Days Later is PA, so is Romero's zombie films along with Fulci's zombie films and the Return of the Living dead series, I guess. I guess Judge Dredd is a PA film as well.

Tarkovskiy's "Stalker" could be defined as such, unless you're looking for the more "shiny" and/or "grungy" PA titles.

My favorite awful post apoc movie was on Sci-Fi. In involved an alien take over of the planet... They settled in the Pacific NW because they eat trees... Why do aliens and sci-fi shows always end up in the Pacific NW?!

I know what movie you speak of, Alien Apocalypse, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0404756/.
and the reason it takes place in Oregon is because the main actor (Bruce Campbell) and Director (Josh Becker) live in Medford Oregon, strange plot choice considering they filmed it in Bulgaria :?

I'd recommend you Michael Bay's The Island

What? That movie is ridiculous at best! Cloning human beings to use the organs as spare parts?

Omg where does that makes sense?

It seems they have clone technology perfected, they have all the resources they need to build a citadel, to grow these humans and still make it a secret, then why oh why dont they just grow the freaking organs instead with stem cells?

It’s stupid, so stupid. The premise is all wrong.

I love action packed movies that defies all laws of physics and common sense as the next guy, but come on, no story at all would be way better than the one they had to invent to excuse the action scenes…

And then the “pro-life” and religious rhetoric mixed with product placement….

Jesus…

PS: Already ordered Zardoz, thanks for the tip.

Edit: Not to mention about genetic memory from something that still havent happen when you were born, or was it telepathic powers?... puzzling... Damm i wasnt aware of these special powers that real twin brothers (natural CLONES) in our world have...

American Cyborg Steel Warrior!!!

Can a title get any more hard as fuck than that?!? Don't think so.

Too bad the movie sucks.

I suggest viewings of Fando Y Lis, Jodorowsky's post apocalyptic film that also happened to cause outbreaks of violence at several screenings, one ending with Jodorowsky nearly getting nailed by rocks from an angry crowd.

Decent enough film, but it's typical Jodorowsky, which is plenty surreal.
