Let's say there used to be such ideas a long time ago, but it turned out to be impossible to fit New Vegas lore. Looking back now, it really was a bad idea.

Our Van Buren is intended to be more of sequel to Fallout 2 rather than prequel to New Vegas. The goal is to implement the original design as close as possible.

Ah that is good to hear.
To be honest I was a bit disappointed when you mentioned that you wanted to tie New Vegas into it.
Not that I hate New Vegas but I would much rather see Van Buren as Black Isle had intended it.

What will be changed?
 
Popped in just to say the creators twitter account was deleted after it came to light that hes been ripping assets not just from New Vegas, but stealing assets from a mod project for New Vegas called Way of the Chosen. Some known mod authors called him out on this, and were subsequently blocked. Now the account seems to be gone https://twitter.com/lacko_adam
I wouldn't get yourhopes up that anything will end up coming out of this. Van Buren curse continues.

Let me correct you. I deleted the account myself. You are totally wrong when stating I use NV assets, that's simply not true. And about stealing - one of their members gave me their assets. Frankly, it's not my problem they can't watch after their own crew. My crime, however, was that I used 4, or make it, 5 assets from this bunch without asking the leads. When confronted, I lied that these assets are not theirs. I was a fool. I admit it, and I'm taking a fall for it right now, even thanks to likes such as yourself who spit half-true gossips around without even knowing what really happened. I can't continue the project with this on my back. It's my fault, I screwed up, and I accepted the consequences. Even though I stated an apology to the relevant persons, and it was, sort of, not-even-half-way accepted, I know people will remember and I would always have this portrait of a scumbag. Furthermore, I can't let the community insult my crew members like it did in last few hours just because they fucking know me. If there's one to be blamed and hunted, it's me, not them. So that's it. Project is discontinued. I'm sorry.

Why would people be so greedy with their assets? Wouldn't it be better for the Fallout community if they were available to all? That greed just got this project cancelled.

No, don't blame them. I've done a bad thing, not them. It may look like an overkill for a few actually totally generic assets, but the righteousness is on their side, I can't deny that. This project is canceled, but that does not mean Van Buren is dead.
 
So is all that hard work just down the drain now? I know it's a tragedy with what happened but surely there must be a way to salvage some assets to help keep the Van Buren dream alive.

While I deserve all that hate I was given until I disappeared from virtual space, I can't imagine to continue to work with it. And it's not about me, it's about my team mates as well. I appreciate your support and I understand you don't get this harsh reaction of mine, but I had no choice and I think you would do the same after seeing what I saw from the community. I simply can't continue. Believe me, it hurts me much more than you or anyone else. But, it's done, and there's no way back.

Damn, I sent you a private message on twitter offering help with the games character creation system, but I guess it got lost in the Fallout (no pun intended.) Your work was looking good too, so it's a shame you can't carry on. Good luck in the future!

There's one BIG problem with that, the passion will be gone. We need the Hardboiled Wanderer to do it, he's got the knowledge and passion behind him.
