So this was just posted on Bethesda.Net

Honestly, I've stopped caring. Console Mods was a shit idea anyway. In glad Sony are Bing asswholes to Bethesda, even through I do agree this is a dick nice to the consumer.

But really, the only people still caring about Fallout 4 in any positive light are probably the ones saying how great the season pass was and why modders should mod for them.

Sony didn't have to go through with this.
Only downside is keeping the shitty dialogue wheel.

As a console user myself, I have limited hardware and limited memory space.
Considering how powerful some of the better mods are, they would either brick my console, or be so held back that there isn't any point.

Also, how they are regulated, you're not going to get the super insane stuff.
I hate to sound like I want more violence and sex in my games, but I would like the option to kill kids and when I strip someone of their stuff, they are completely naked or so.

Just these extra things add more realism to the Universe, and considering Fallout 4 needs those extra little details to keep my invested, they are going to fail on console.

There's got to be an issue on Bethesda's end too because Farming Simulator on PS4 supports mods. So why can't Bethesda find a way to get them to work like they could?

For prosperity.
PS4 Mod Update
After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.
No fault should go to Sony for this, reason, Bethesda shouldn't promise things they are not 100% sure they can deliver.

Bethesda has a habit of doing this. Ref#1, Ref#2, Ref#3, Ref#4

What Bethesda should have said is "We're sorry for getting peoples hopes up." Instead they pass the blame to Sony with, "Like you we are disappointed by Sony's decision"

Was it Sony's decision to remove the fog from Far Harbor? No.
Was it Sony's decision to have Skyrim unplayable until a year after release? No.
Was it Sony's decision for you to update Skyrim to make it playable on PS3 and break MFG? No.

I think that Sony might actually be a good company who looks out for their users. They probably made a very reasonable offer to Bethesda to allow mods for Fallout 4. Bethesda's "I'm a big kid now" attitude probably pushed Sony to a point were they are not willing to consider any more offers. You also have to remember that when ever Bethesda screws with Playstation and fail, they never take the blame. That is bad business. So bad that Sony per-emptivly said no to Skyrim SE.

What about all the people that bought your shit game on PS4 because of the promise of mods?
How many people do you need to fuck over before the veil is loosed?

To all PS4 users. Please don't put Sony in a position where they ban Bethesda titles, you should have boycotted them after they stole your money for Skyrim.

My opinion on it: Thank God it doesn't work, less money for those assholes.

I certainly intend to stay away from Zenimax and Bethesda and advise you to do the same.

Also a bonus from tumblr:

Friendly reminder that Obsidian receives no royalties from Fallout: New Vegas, and lost their monetary bonus from Bethesda because FNV’s metacritic score was 1 point too low.

Unfriendly reminder that Bethesda bribed MetaCritic to keep it below the minimum.

friendly unfriendly reminder that Zenimax (Bethesda’s parent company) does this all the time and it’s their primary method of acquiring new studios.

They contract a game, then put a bunch of payments the studio would need to continue existing behind (appearingly) reasonable walls, then sabotage them. The result is either a studio that ships the game but can’t stay open, at which point Zenimax offers to buy them, or a studio that can’t finish the game, at which point Zenimax offers to buy them

Friendly reminder that Zenimax also forced FNV out the door early despite Obsidian saying they needed a couple more months for bugs and the only reason Obsidian is still around is because their Kickstarter for Pillars of Eternity was successful.

Zenimax also claim that the guy who invented the Oculus Rift starting with prototypes in 2011 in his parents garage actually stole the information and basically said he is too stupid to actually make it himself. They’re flinging shit that they know can be disproven by him presenting his original prototypes in the lawsuit because they know they can hurt his public image that way.

Zenimax is a shitty, money grubbing company with few if any morals. Fuck them.

The More You Know….

And now to end my rant on a much lower note. Bethesda and Zenimax are garbage in general and I will not be supporting it in the future, and I urge you to do the same.

I agree with you but I'm going to at least support Arkane as long as they make good games. I'll be getting Dishonored 2 day one as long as there's no bullshit Season Pass bullshit.

Not buying any more BGS games though. No more Fallouts by them, no more Elder Scrolls games either.

I may buy Dishonored 2 myself because I liked the first one. However only if it has got at least 70% discount.

I'm already ahead of you by boycotting Bethesda.

I don't exactly want to put that on the whole company as Doom and the new Prey (in which the Chris Avellone fanboy in me is very conflicted).

But yeah, I didn't think of that when they were blaming Sony.
I guess any company where a Trump is on the board of directors is a miserable company indeed.

I feel dirty knowing that one of my favourite games ever (New Vegas) was basically giving him even the smallest of sums.

I pre-ordered the Dishonored 2 Collector's Edition.

Saw the gameplay, looked good. Saw the Collector's Edition bonuses, looked good. I still can't find a Platinum Chip on ebay and I don't want the same to happen with Corvo's mask. I know I'm hurting the game industry, but it's one time, I promise.

Ah I got the platinum chip

This might actually matter if Fallout 4 was actually good and not the total abomination that it is. At least they can play No Man's Sky...lol...

But seriously they're not missing anything. Fallout 4 is a shite game and even if there were any great mods chances are they would be too large or otherwise demanding for consoles anyway. Are people even playing this game anymore?

One of my friends is still playing it. Though he only started it recently.

Also there was a new DLC that is probably shitty but I have no idea because I don't care released recently. I guess people might be playing that for some unknown reason?
