PS4 mod support update

Also I've seen nothing official about "QA" and I wouldn't trust Neogaf since it seems like it's operated by man-children.
I would since it's logically correct. Not only because Bethesda hyped for PS4 modding aswell but because there are at least one Farming Simulatior with mods support on PS4 and mods in ps store.
DICE and Rockstar games have run poorly on Ps3 though, not at buggy as Bethesda games mind you, but seriously Gta 5 was a huge mess on Ps3 until they, barely, managed to get their shit together almost a year later, and even then it can be unplayable at times. Memory issues plagued the Ps3 in more than just Bethesda games.
But they are fixing things and last time I played GTA V, it was quite nice for a PS3 game. And DICE's Battlefield 3 performed more stable on PS3 with good texture quality, visually at least, which is true for both of these games.

Last time I checked Skyrim Legendary Edition, it's still bad.

So it's logical that Sony would do something that would, regardless of what a minority thinks, assuredly damage their image in the eyes of a lot of fans? It makes no sense from a business or quality perspective, because they would be missing out on some re-sales and potential purchases, as well as not allowing people to even use simple small mods that may actually increase the quality/performance of their game.

Also the only farming simulator that supports mods on PS4 that I could find was a mod pack that Sony allowed on to the store after they won some kind of contest.

Businesses do not work this way despite what their marketing department tells you. But please continue with these "at least mostly true" statements.

It's a lot more money and reputation Sony will lose after a handful of users brick their consoles and alot bigger crowd struggle through single digit framerate after installing mods that either in a wrong load order or conflicts with another or just plain big and too performance-hitting like 'green world'. It's again Bethesda who hyped unconfirmed feature even though they didn't want to support the game after last DLC or don't have manpower to moderate bethesda.net or F4's page on ps store.

have a feeling it has something to do with the adult content that Microsoft pretends isn't being used on their platform. if you read the line from Bethesda, "Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want." Well, no Bethesda, console players can't do anything they want. But you allow it with your lack up curation and how poorly to don't handle your site. I would also venture to say Sony is in a pretty good position to take legal action, if they so choose.

And when that happens Bethesda releases another press statement saying it's Sony's hardware at fault, just like Hello Games blamed PS4 hardware for the crappy performance of No Man's Sky.

Here's the thing, Sony haven't really done anything wrong here.
If we want to shit on them, how about how they treated Hello Games with No Man's Sky, look at how they are talking about paid patches for certain games on the PlayStation 4 pro.

There are tonnes we can crap on Sony for, but this isn't one of them.

Even then, the two issues I stated above still have some kind of problem from the devs/publisher's side.

In all honesty, if Bethesda do decide not release their games on PlayStation (and I mean BGS games) then good.

Sony don't have to have mods on their console, it's their console. If they aren't happy about what Bethesda are doing, then why should they have go with it?

Why should Sony have sex with Bethesda even if Bethesda bought Sony the drink?
Sony don't owe Bethesda shit.

I do feel this is a Peter Molyneoux moment where Bethesda said something and Sony were like 'what the fuck? We never agreed to this!'

I'm not seeing this. Their AAA marketing got Hello Games the best possible exposure for their game. They were even on national television promoting it - comedy shows, nighttime talk shows, the works. It's Hello Games that failed to deliver the product. No one forced them to sell a $60 Early Access Alpha piece of garbage.

I mean, that would partly be on the individuals for trying to install mods that are too intensive, or ones that directly conflict with each other. It can't all be Bethesda's or Sony's fault, because you can't fix stupidity, only ignorance.

Nobody is saying they do.

Until evidence surfaces that they actually sprung this on them without a word, then it isn't worth bringing up. Bethesda and Sony both talked about this, and Sony is jumping ship, which is going to make them look bad no matter how they, or the minority that agrees with their decision, try to spin it.

True, but I feel that also hurt it in many ways.
I like to believe with a game like NMS, it could have been so much more successful being an underground hit.
I enjoy the game myself, but felt spoilt by its early reputation

Remember mods for Unreal Tournament 3, for even very old now PS3. It just works. And if your game is Fallout 4 and not UT3, that's for mod QA exists in the first place! To solve and control these problems you mentioned.
It's like protecting a game with StarForce DRM, the user is screwed no matter who's guilty and you being a publsher just say 'can't fix stupidity'.

If you're enjoying NMS then look into Elite. Like I said before, NMS is Elite Dangerous for babies.

Not saying Elite is a masterpiece though (like NMS it still could be called "procedural generation: the game"), but definitely better than NMS in every way.

As for the thread - I'm honestly surprised people still playing Fallout 4 enough to care about this. There's no replayability and the campaign has got to be the shortest, dumbest in the history of Bethesda Game Studios. I suppose if you play Fallout 4 for the settlement crafting this would be a big disaster, but then that begs the question - what kind of bizarro world is this where people play Fallout games for the crafting? Fallout was an RPG franchise at one point, you know.

The "you can't fix stupid" was more in reference to people who try and force incompatible mods to work together. I never said that Bethesda shouldn't have a QA system for console modding, but Sony is being screwed over by a lot of their recent actions, and this is among them. No matter who is at fault, though in this situation I fault Sony until evidence to the contrary rises, they are the ones that look bad. Just like Bethesda looked bad when the wouldn't/couldn't talk about why the mods were being delayed.

I made and exception because this post is just asking for it. Unfortunately there are a lot of stupid people in the world, a lot. and many of them will think like this. Your daft point A to point A thinking is only going to result in you thinking the same thing, you do no research on subject matter you seem interested in arguing so even if Bethesda had a class action lawsuit from Sony and proven wrong without a reasonable doubt, you would either a.) Not know, or b.) Still argue against fact.

It might be better for you to say, "I represent the lowest common denominator and I blame Sony. Don't bother showing me facts because I am not intelligent enough to absorb them."

Outside of 'why not', you know that some mods are incompatible with each other only after someone makes an error.
but Sony is being screwed over by a lot of their recent actions, and this is among them.
There are other sins to bash Sony for. Not this topic. Having a QA is not should or shouldn't, it's a MUST, in general but even more for mods. You yourself said that FNV was a mess, you know this.

Fact of the matter is that we do not know why, and Sony has not said why. We cannot hold something for or against them without any real evidence. Until they release a statement as to why, they will look bad. And this comes from someone who likes Sony, but this is just another of their recent mess ups.

Well, I don't care for Sony but me and you both know that if Sony didn't want such wide 'player freedom' as modifying the base game (F4 and Skyrim SE), they'd say it straight, not waited/wasted several months.

And that's all I would ask for. If they came out and said "we don't want to allow modding on our console" they I wouldn't like that idea, but I wouldn't complain because it's their decision.
