Qore network video interview

Brother None

This ghoul has seen it all

PS3's Qore network has a video interview with several of the developers of the Fallout 3 team, available in two parts: part one, part two.
So, finally, any advice for navigating the wasteland of Washington D.C.?

Well, when you're down - actually in D.C., you want to look for the metro tunnels and head underground. They're filled with ghouls, but they're much easier than the giant supermutants that are up in the rubble of the city. So if you're not high level yet: stay underground.
Thanks Humpsalot.

The thing I don't like about this is that "filled with ghouls" is a bad thing. Judging from what I've read, Beth has turned ghouls into zombies. They were one of my favorite races in fallout and it is disappointing to see them treated this way.

He says "The BoS is big in the previous Fallouts."

Really? In FO1 they're basically an optional subquest, and even after you join them, they don't do shit.

Sort of the same in FO2.

/me looks around for good ol Maw Duce. . .

(Just kidding Humpsalot

hopefully someone can mod in 50 cal machine guns and maybee a 50 cal BMG Sniper rifle.

The Brotherhood is "big" in F3 allright.

As big as, say, Optimus Prime. Literally.

ghouls should have had an organization like BOS. that would make them powerful in F3. instead of being the crazy blood sucking zombies...

Or they could've been like they were in the first two games: slow, shambling wrecks with peeling skin, instead of fast (or medium-speed) bits of living jerky. I personally don't care about the "feral ghouls" thing; what bothers me is how different the ghouls are from their previous incarnations, and how close to zombies the new ghouls are. Don't even get me started on the "radiation magic" of the new Glowing Ones.

And are violent ghouls more recently seen or those civilized ones?

Huh? I wasn't even talking about that. Or what I think you're talking about.

What I'm saying is, regardless of whether feral ghouls are in or not, the ghouls in Fallout 3 look *very* different, and that we saw an official preview video several months back where the ghouls were *running.* Which, beyond the fact that they look different, really changes what the ghouls are.

I was just adding my thought to your comment, not trying to argue about it :P

Violent ghouls I meant all those: feral, glowing ones, zombie like- freaks, and civilized ones- you can find them talking like a normal person-human with others. So I was thinking, did Bethesda use violent ghouls in FO3 more than civilized ones? Are ghouls seen more like civilized creatures, or a blood driven monsters in FO3?

See my point now?

The same thing is with Super Mutants... at least, can they talk?

Mmm. Well, I guess my answer to your sort-of query is: We don't know yet. And some of us *coughmecough* don't really care too much 'bout that.

And it's been pretty well established that the Super Mutants can't be talked to. Which makes them the new Orcs, a point I'd made months ago, and which is still pretty upsetting.

Dude I know we don't know yet.

I was just thinking. And about SM, we don't know yet as well as about ghouls :P

I hear there's rumors on the internets [spoiler:ca319ed030]about a scene involving an intelligent supermutant, which the PC talks to at some point. It's apparently as smart as FO1's Lieutenant. [/spoiler:ca319ed030]

So no, it's not established in an absolute sense. Sure, the ones you encounter in the game world you can't talk with, but then again you couldn't talk with the random encounter ones in FO1 either.
