7.5/10. I only just became aware of Esham recently, but from the stuff I heard I never would have guessed he evolved from such classical roots.

8/10, good listening, sounds soundtrackish. Not exactly my taste though.

I like Jazz, but this sounds more like slow Jazz to me. Its amazing how long songs used to be compared to songs today, 10 minutes to 3 minutes.

7.8/10 (I couldn't give it anything less than this because I knew this guy was extremely influential in US Jazz, and giving him a regular 7 or 6.8 ((which I thought about)) would be basing it off my own taste in music).

Funny, I think I may have posted that one before myself. Or at least it's something I have in my playlist.

I'd say it's a solid 7.5.

5/10. Not bad at all, but there's not much variance to it. Reminds me of video game background music. The third guy on the red team totally stole the blue kid's turn, too.

Oh come on now, you're accusing nubian mindz of being repetetive (which if you listen, has constant variations in timber, percussion and voice changes) by posting an actually more repetetive track yourself. All i have to say to you is :

How about some keys?

4/10 never liked corny rappers, although one could argue that most rap is corny, but in this case he has no flow either. Which reminds me.. Just read a paper on rhythm in rap and some of that shit is pretty complex if you view it in a musical way. All kinds of syncopation, unexpected pauses and triplets. I never thought about it in that way. Anyways:

Someone who has flow and lyrics. I found that trying to "rap" along with the lyrics is a pretty good exercise for non native english speakers.. Damn hard too, it seems as if the tongue will breake in half.

Our ideas of flow are two different views lol. See to me, NAS always seems likes hes talking over a beat, instead of actually rapping. But nevertheless I liked the beat. 6.5/10.

Also to point out, all the rappers I throw at you guys are almost always underground. To me the mainstream of today (in rap and other genres) have gone way down hill, and ultimately sound like shit. Even Bone Thugs N Harmony, originally a favorite band of mine is unrecognizable compared to their shit in the 90's. I've mostly stuck to the underground, while also listening to the greats from the 80's and 90's.

Well he connects lines very smoothly even with difficult rhythms and that's without thinking of it, and it always flows very niceley. I don't like rappers who just shoot phrases like tttt tttt tttt, not stressing or variating different parts enough, it just sounds amateurish to me.

As for today and underground - i think most of it sounds like shit, underground or not. Back when i used to listen to alot of hh and had a decent ammount of it, i tried to find some new, interesting material and most of the time it was just lackluster. It's either terrible beats with uninteresting lyrics, or some hipster stuff, none of it sounded sincere or original. After some time i just started to back away from the whole scene as it's not improving anymore and if anything the musical aspect of it is getting worse, it revolves overwhelmingly more about the image today, than about the art itself. Which is a shame, since rapping is closer to poetry and can convey more than singing. Of course there are a few decent tracks here and there, but it's pretty rare.

For video 5/10. I hate those beats that are made in half and hour with a shitty synthesizer (wish they would just stick with samples).

8/10 Kinda impressive. They took two people who had different electrical styles and beats and managed to combine them. Even though when you listen they sound like there is no way they go together, if you relax and just enjoy the ride the harmony of the two finds its way to you.

Well we completely agree on that note. By the way, what the hell is hh?

Here's one you might like, that was a classic in my childhood.
