Red Dead Redemption 2

Really hope this is coming to PC, I remember wanting to play the first one so bad but were never able to.

Hell yeah! I saw this the other day and can't wait for the trailer! I love westerns! Its a shame that there isn't much western games out there. Its a really underused
Oh and something off topic and stupid, apparently the idiots at Neogaf, Twitter and Tumblr are throwing a shit fit because the teaser pic has a lack of vaginas and people of color. How bored are these people?
History is written by the winner. Imagine if they won, what would history look a hundred years from now? Would any past history be rainbow-washed to included transexual one-legged eskimo midgets?

We all know the answer and that is a big fucking YES!

Abraham Lincoln was a ferret-kin.
Oh wait, that would mean that they'd have to acknowledge the slave shit.
Uh...
The slaves were white men.
They freed us.
Then we fucked everything up.
And then they took back control and that boys and girls is why we castrate and leash cis-het white men in 2020.

[edit]

Oh, right. This thread was about RDR 2.

So there are multiple people on screen and they did the whole 3 part protagonist in GTAV. Anyone else think they might go full on ensemble cast protagonist this time around? Cause that could be cool. Narrative-wise. Gameplay is most likely still going to be godawful.

Mayonaise would be a gender apparently.

I find it odd this is going to be called Red Dead Redemption 2. It sounds... off. Like how when someone brings up a hypothetical Obsidian Fallout, they call it New Vegas 2. It sounds weird. You'd think they'd call it something more flashy like Red Dead Revolution or Roadkill or something (Revenge sounds cliche to me).

Red Dead Redemption is a big influence on me and very possibly the best video game of all time. I also like that part of the map includes New Orleans. I'm hoping this will take place during the Civil War and we'll be able to shoot up some Confederates.

:)

I tend to agree with everyone here, the name is crap. It's also weird because they had a very easy to go one for it.

Red Dead Revenge

Well I'm hyped.
Red Dead Revolver was one of my all-time favorite games as a kid. Then we got Red Dead Redemption. I was initially dissappointed that it wasn't an actual sequel but I came to think of kind of like a GTA sequel. New character; same universe type deal. Though I wonder why Redemption gets a sequel... Nothing else to tell really what with how redemption ends and the post game does pretty much what you'd expect them to do in a sequel. Curious to see how thisll turn out.

Let me see.

Black protagonist!

Female option!

Slavery liberation missions!

:)
It's funny because both Red Dead games take place after the Civil War so in order to have that shit you'd have to do the typical SJW thing of randomly changing the entire world of the game to find a way to fit your politics into it anyway.

I never got to play Red Dead Revolver and am hoping the story that it'll be included with the Xbox One. I've heard good things about it and am hoping @R.Graves recommendation is just another sign that it'll be a good thing for a Western fan like myself. I'm also hoping they'll make all of the Call of Juarez games available via Backward Compatibility and the Xbox Library.

As for Red Dead Redemption 2, I'm actually 99% sure this is prequel because the map doesn't have train tracks like the previous one did (showing the encroach of progress). Also, Mafia III is a tie-in with New Bordeaux being a third of the RDR2 map. Mafia 3's background pages also mention the Dixie Mob and the Marcano mob were active "just past the Civil War" so I expect them to show up as people you can shoot.

Red Dead Redemption is a truly great game, though, with an homage to all the genres of Western. The first section is a classic Western of good vs. evil. The second section is a Spaghetti Western with good and evil not really clear. The third section is like Unforgiven where good and evil not mattering in the slightest.

Well, 1/3rd of all cowboys in real life were Black. Literally, the Wild West was in large part about Blacks leaving the South for SOME REASON and seeking a new life.

But the Western mythology didn't pay these guys much attention.

Except for Mel Brooks.

What? Mafia III wasn't even made by Rockstar...

No.
Because cowboys ranked low in the social structure of the period, there are no firm figures on the actual proportion of various races. One writer states that cowboys were "... of two classes—those recruited from Texas and other States on the eastern slope; and Mexicans, from the south-western region ..." Census records suggest that about 15% of all cowboys were of African-American ancestry—ranging from about 25% on the trail drives out of Texas, to very few in the northwest.

Is that map confirmed legit?

Ugh, I'm not finally going to get a PC RDR game only for it to be littered with social justice """"progressive"""" nonesense am I?
At least theres piracy on PC ;^)

From multiple sources, yes.

As for Rockstar? I doubt they're going to be particularly PC albeit you do get to mow down a Klan rally with a machine gun in Mafia III.

:)

Here's a colorized version of the leaked map.

But yes, Mafia III is owned by Rockstar because the company which made it is owned by Rockstar.
Er... Isn't Rockstar mostly a brand name?
There's several developers that hold the name rockstar.

There's

rockstar Vancouver- the only game I know they made was an adaptation of the warriors. Fucking great game.

Rockstar leeds- made the PSP GTA games.

Rockstar North- the handler of the main GTA series ever since 3 iirc.

I'm sure there's more but those are the only ones I can recall off the top of my head.

Oh and @CT Phipps confirming that the opposition is correct is not an argument.

Let's go shoot dem racist confederate shits cause der evulz, hurr de hurr hurr.

Well I could make a nuanced argument in game about how the destruction of Reconstruction trapped Southerners in poverty and helped weaken the South overall for the benefit of a minority of White oligarchs who were desperately hanging onto an already failing resource.

But....
