I hope it's nothing like what you want.
I, honestly, just hope it's not "Grand Theft Stallion."
John Marston is one of the best video protagonists of all time with an actual story and characterization. One which ended tragically and beautifully. I remember Ashley Burch talking about how it didn't work for her because she played Evil John.
I used to think the abolitionists were good people but... well, thanks to this brief discussion I did some research and many were the equivalent of lynch mobs, breaking laws and beating up anyone who supported slavery or wanted to bring escaped slaves back.
America has a history of vigilantism. Our history begins with rising up against tyranny and it will almost certainly end with it. The law is a social construct which is one which has no innate moral authority just because a majority (or even a minority agree with it) agree with it. Fundamentally, each man must be true to his own conscience and decide whether to stand up against what he perceives as evil or not.
In the end, killing a man who is trying to take a slave back is stopping a kidnapping. It's only the law which says it's wrong. Then again, I don't pretend fighting oppression is all sunshine and GI Joe Cartoons. "Good" people get killed in the process and the reprocussions echo through society.
