We're still not following Naughty Dog's PS3-exclusive action adventure game The Last of Us very closely, but this latest "Truck ambush" trailer is pretty neat. Give it a look...

Also in post-apocalyptic notes we don't talk about much, JJ Abrams (Star Trek) and John Favreau (Iron Man) have a new show coming to NBC soon, Revolution, set in a post-apocalyptic world where all electricity blacked out worldwide and never came back. The premise is a bit ludicrous and some questions do crop up immediately (how the hell did the buildings get that overgrown in 15 years?), but might be worth keeping an eye on.

Even if it's cool to see The Last of Us's trailer, with Hellen Page and what seems to be some good hint of rpg elements (I can remember such strawmen with ambushes in Fallout)... It's still painful (and worth mentioning) to remember it will be PS3 exclusive. :(

About Revolution: yeah, ludicrous is the word here... First half of the trailer reminds me of the Walking Dead (that may sound silly, but still!) and yet the other half reminds me of huh... Underworld? You know, that bad teenage movie. Well, need to see more to get an opinion about that.

Thank your for keeping us informed, NMA :)

Swords... right... as if guns (and their ammo, production, etc) needed electricity...

And what's with the alien looking small artifact that turns power back on?

PS: The Last of Us looks nice, too bad it's a PS3 exclusive :(

The premise from Revolution is a bit silly but beyond that it looks worth checking out.

That artefact thing was at the start of the trailer.. at the time I though it was a flash drive or something. Apparently not.

Last of US trailer is cool. The second trailer is cheesy, dumb, and shit. I like how the highway gets hit with the blackout starting with one of the main dude's car and how a plane falls out of the sky because of a blackout, flashing it's various lights and etc. and etc.

Revolution looks only slightly less retarded than TerraNova (premise notwithstanding).

The Last of Us still looks very promising to me. Sadly, publishers don't care for my PC, so...

To be honest tho, I have always felt Sony had the more interesting exclusives compared to Microsoft. God Hand, the Team Ico games, Last of Us. Add console exclusives like Red Dead Redemption and I'm definitely tempted.

Isn't "The Last of us" made by the team that made this "I want to be a movie" game filled with cutscenes and quicktime events? Not saying that it doesn't look good, (I dont have a PS3 anyway) but I'd want a bit more game and less movie...

Let's see how the game turns out

Uncharted? Yip. Same studio. Dunno if it's the same team since there's some timeframe overlap, but I would presume it has a lot of the same people. And will very likely be the same kind of game, yes. CINEMATIC. coz we learned nothing since Interplay in the 90s.

What do you mean with the Interplay bit? :o
Not sure if you mock or agree with me, silly me that I am. ;P

Ah, thanks for the reminder. I didn't think this approach to "gaming" reaches so far in the past already... :/

Did they just melt down all their gardening tools so they couldn't prevent the vegetation from growing everyehwere?

15 years later … and the ^babes^ are trekking about in low rise waists / part cropped shirts, a.k.a. peekaboo midriffs / boobs!

15 years of frozen fashion, … oh the horror, 'teh' horror …

CGI vegetation.
15 years, no mo' guest workers, oh noes, and oh yes the vegetables are winning!

Recall only ONE bearded man.
15 years of lost consumer industry, seems like plenty of razors about anyway!

A future assembled from freeze framed present ….
"Revolution" does look so MADe FOr TV, glad that tradition lives on.

ALL this TV, I !need! to catch up on, and haven't even scratched the "Beverly Hillbillies" reruns at Internet Archive! :o

Wait.

Did watch the Jack Benny spoof of the Honeymooners recently! (Oh the wonder, Audrey Meadows and Jayne Meadows were sisters, thanks Wiki!) ;)

It's the team that made Uncharted 2, well the main creative people, they were just one team at that time. After U2 they started working on TLOU, while the people responsible for the MP part of U2 made a new team to make U3. So yes, high hopes for TLOU.

And yeah, i love Uncharted series.

Uncharted is an extremely linear and gated experience but it somehow works as long as you're looking for the equivalent of a cheesy 80s movie rather than an art piece. I wouldn't count that as automatically meaning that The Last of Us offers the same kind of experience though, or at least, I would hope it doesn't.
