Scenery stuff and such...

Anyway, will all the actually active modders be remapping all their projects' maps? :D

No. :P But I am planning to use them in some special maps.

I have been watching for your work for NMA.

Let me express my admiration.

Continue to work. You are excellent at it.

:ok:

TyfuZ (BGE programmer) just put it ingame and hey, this is really really better than the original ones. It's hard luck that there'll always be a scenery/tile collision problems of epic proportions. So, any time spent on pimping this will be a very very good invetsment.

But we still may use it in 1-2 areas anyway; thus help 'em to look 'n feel far more unique. :ok:

I will use them for sure, just wait till I make a palette!
Or maybe I could replace the old ones with one of the new tiles, and use the old only on special maps ? :D

I wonder if there isn't a way to replace the old tiles on a map by modifying the text file, and then loading the map from the text...

I am probably going to work on the road/ tiles, I will post them here when I finish them.

Here's a test transition between some road and a new grounds:

So, can someone be soo nice and will extract, convert to bitmap and send to me/upload for me/whatever (those bitmaps, not FRMs ;)) one full set of some tile --> desert transition thing (but please, some commonly used, not unique I don't know what ;))?

I'm talking about original tiles, not custom ones, of course ;)

-------------------------------------EDIT

Never mind.

can you uplaod your finish packs to the fallout art pagE?

i really lost the orientation with all this graphic critter /scenery projects.

As I said somewhere in this thread: all links to the latest version you can find in first post in this thread. You don't need to read through this spam :ugly:

I prefer to upload something and next delete and replace with new version by using rapidshare.

--------------------------------------EDIT

Today I prepared another four ground types. Here's a preview:

Every type is powered by 30 tiles.

those new 4 ground types would bring more diversity into the fallout world. Hope to see (with modified maps) as an option for the killap's RP ;)

Indeed.
Would be great to see some existing cities ingame with some of those tiles. The 4th looks like some montain places while the 3rd looks good for towns near the sea.

I'm getting excited :D

Sweet...

Do you plan to do the road/new ground tiles for all of them, or just some of them?

Just need to know which one I should choose for the cities...

Anyway, great job, I made some test with the desert one and it rocks!

So far I almost got CURB20-43:

32826520.gif

ROAD10-33 is next (but not sure about it, since will be rather hard to remove that desert), but transitions (ready to add FRMs) are going to be only available for GRDFLCXX*, the rest only available on request (only GIFs), since from only one transition I'll get 144 tiles and all this shit is starting to be really annoying :D

After that I'm out for a long time from this whole Fallout modding thing. Enough 8-)

* because of DOS era I'm using specified code for each tile set to not lost myself :D Here's how it looks ("x" is a type name, "XX" is a number of tile/scenery):

GRDFLxXX (main tiles)
GRDTRxXX (transitions)
GRDSCxXX (scenery)

Den powered by GRDFLCXX and its transitions with CURB20-43, ROAD10-33 and four "holes" (52 tiles):

Now I'm going to adopt some scenery crap.

Snow in a hot desert setting is just stupid. Really, nobody will use it and I still never saw something released from a kind of weather mod that adds snow and will have the godly powers to change all tiles when the time has come.

which tools you use for your amesome works?
Any 3d package, where:

- you can render a single, one polygon plane,
- you can set up the camera,
- you can make unwrap of UVWs,
- you can add a color map (and a normal map).

and any 2d painting program which is supporting layers feature will do the job.

As for the snow: I agree with Lexx. Half naked tribals in -10°C aren't going to look good. Never.

----------------------------------------EDIT

Version 0.3 is up.

Changes:

- added transitions with CURBXX and ROADXX for GRDFLCXX,
- another two (!*) existing scenery pieces adopted for GRDFLCXX.

For screenies/changes from previous version check out this post.
