Sean K. Reynolds interview at DAC

Sounds like you had something really special going there. It's a great shame that the project was murdered, I mean cancelled. It would have been very nice to see what it was really like.

Still, I don't think Van Buren should be canonized as Fallout 3 just yet.....not until you give us more spoilers anyway! :)

You would have seen things like 2-headed rattle snakes, horribly mutated giant toads, Grand Canyon mutant cannibals, giant wasps, and desert stalker (sort of like an ant crossed with a lion) in your walks around the wastes.

No giant spiders, to cliche

Do you have any screens of those snakes ?

Or better yet, still have the 3D file ?

it'd be sweet to convert them to FRMs so modders can use them.

I wish.

It's hard to say what does and doesn't actually exist. I was told things like Death Claws didn't have their models done yet. I think I was told PNPCs didn't either. So they were missing alot of these models, or not to that point just yet. They were short on artists alot of the time.

Heya gang,

This is Ferret B late of BIS (may it rest in peace). PC Town was my baby - and that wasn't literally going to be its name. The player could choose what to call it, after all - they would make it.

Hoover Dam and Maxson's Bunker were originally my areas before I left BIS. That was tough to do because I really loved the way the game was shaping up, but I had concerns with IPLY in general. I was very saddened to see my fears were justified.

Welcome Ferret.

I'd had concerns bout Iply since FOCraptics came out.

Oh, and good work on PCtown, it sounded kickass.

I woulda called it "Dogmeatville"

kumquatq3, were any of the weapons done ? I'd like to see how the gauss weapons looked.

To my knowledge, almost all art that got "released" has been posted on NMA. Whatever hasn't, for various reasons, can't be just yet. If someone is holding out something big, then I'm in the same boat as you are.

As for the guns, I really have no idea if the models were ever created, but I do know that in some of the screenshots (IE the multiplayer one) they seem to use FOT images. Tho that grenade, I'm not sure were thats from, is that FOT?

I dunno, it sorta looks like it.

I never playd Craptics for long, to damn crappy of a FO game for me, so I usualy uninstall before you got higher end equiptrment like that.

How long does your NDA go for? Until Interplay is gone? I'd imagine that "legally" you guys aren't supposed to talk about non-released titles even after you left the company... Not that i dont like hearing about all that was. I really hope that a few of you got a good chunk of that game hiding at home somewhere for when IP goes kaboom

Welcome Ferret, you did well, as we can see in retrospective, i`m glad you`re having fun in Obsidian. Everyone from BIS that i`ve talked to speak highly of you, the PC Town idea really seemed fun.

i dont know, that sounds almost as bad as saussage-ville.....theriousthly

Anything with "meatville" in it, cant be good

They aren't all from FOT. FOT didn't have Combat Armor or Robes. The only image I see there that I know is from FOT would be the Shotgun.

Glad to know the other BIS designers thought my work was decent. I was impressed with a lot of the design of the game. I hope Betheseda has a good time with that game - if it weren't for upper management blues, it was pretty idyllic.
