Sequels that should be f***ing made.

My dream sequel would be Darksun 3 using the TOEE engine.

Well, if that dude who's working to recreate a moddable engine based on TOEE ever finishes the project, and you manage to find some dedicated modders/indie developers, the dream could come true. In 20 years or so.

Can't disagree about Freelancer.
I would also like to see next Vampire game. Like a sequel to Vampire: Bloodlines. Of course using the old WoD rules. New ones suck.
Or maybe new ultima?

Star Wars Battlefront 3

Kotor 3

Dragon Age 2. The real sequel not the JRPG spin off everyone jokingly says is the sequel.

Shadowrun, genesis version. It will never happen but it would be my number one.
Flashback
Road Rash
Dune (RTS)
Proper Warcraft

The odd ones of the pack probably, Star Trek Bridge Commander, Star Trek Elite Force, and a sequel to Star Trek 25th Anniversary/Judgment Rites.

I remember when Bridge Commander was announced for the first time that I could not wait to play it.
I had previously played such games as Starfleet Academy and Klingon Academy, but I really wanted to play a ST game that took place in the TNG setting that gave the feeling that you controlled a capital ship rather than a fighter.

Game also looked really amazing and I loved all the space backgrounds even if they are not really interactive, and of course all the ships and planets.

Also really dug the story, solving a mystery of why a star went nova prematurely and what the threat behind it is.
A lot of the game was fighting at some point but I really was not bored with it.

Totally Games wanted to make an expansion or a sequel but sadly nothing came of that as after Elite Force 2 and Starfleet Command 3 Activision dropped the franchise because of some arguements with Viacom.

Fan modders since then have added new models, improved some of the canon ships' systems and so on, but there has never really been a new single player mission or campaign.

There are a couple of fan projects in development but I still have to see what is coming of that.
Sadly most of their campaigns' involve either a new war with an existing empire or new species, or battles of the Dominion War.

I don't mind tactical engagements but Star Trek is more than war in space.

Star Trek Elite Force.
Another game I was really looking forwards to when it was announced and it did not disappoint when I eventually got it.

It might not have been completely in the spirit of the franchise but the game explained the action mission as the crew was trapped in a starship graveyard in which everyone preyed on each other because of scarcity of resources.

Also really was interested in learning about the Forge space station at the center of the graveyard and the mysterious Harvesters that took crew and components from each ship that arrived.

Next to that of course the player also faced more familiar faces such as Hirogen, Species 8472, Borg, Klingons, Malons, and humans from the Mirror Universe.

I do own Elite Force 2 and thought it was okay but I did not find the story that engaging, new characters and species that interesting, and in general felt that the game felt smaller and less colorful than the first game.

Star Trek 25th Anniversary/Judgment Rites.
Probably the first Star Trek game I bought when I got a PC.
These two games really caught the atmosphere of the classic series imo, mixing the planet or space station based adventure sections with the occasional Wing Commander like space battles again Klingons, Romulans, and Elasi space pirates.

Consisting of various stories that were sort of an episode of their own, a small arc of sorts ran through both games that concluded at the final story, really giving the feeling that I was going through a season.

The best part of course was to hear all the classic Star Trek actors again voicing their characters.

Its pretty much impossible to do a new classic Star Trek game again as two members of the original cast have passed on, and I honestly don't want a game voiced by the 'new' actors.

Sadly the only ST game in the pipeline is that interquel that takes place between the 2009 movie and the movie coming out next year (or is it the year after that?)
The game might be nice but I just don't like what its based on.

Star Trek Bridge Commander +1

Wing Commander
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Commander:_Prophecy
Haven't played a really good space combat (yes... combat, not trading/exploring a'la Privateer, Freelancer etc) sim since Wing Commander Prophecy/Secret Ops + mods.

Starlancer was close, but I sure miss blowing up those furballs in WC.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident

Somwehat similar to Homeworld and other tactical space combat games, but this is the best I've tried so far.

Outlaws, and several other Lucas Arts games (I'm looking at you, X-wing and Tie fighter).

...and the pretty obvious ones.... Arcanum, TOEE, Fallout (duh!) Baldur's Gate and the likes. Isometric and turn based.
Yeah, right... dream on.

Oh! And The Bard's Tale, of course! (not the crappy 2004 one)

And many, many others from many, many different genres.
Yeah, I like games.

Star Wars Battlefront three would be totally awesome, presuming it was made properly (and pretty much pulled jedi and that shit from the game in it's entirety. Getting to fight over locations from the franchise as random grunts was pretty much the best ever, made for some fun co-op.

A proper sequel to Knights of the Republic would be good. Preferably having it be released when it's done and having as little fanservice as possible would be best.

Sim Ant was the shit by the way. Played the everloving fuck out of that game.

Also, DA2 may be bad, but it's not JRPG bad. That's just mean.

I'd also love a sequel to Halo Wars. Put in the proper features it needed (like the ability to designate groups), make the MP less terrible, pick any decent part of the story (Not hard, seeing as you've got some thirty odd years of war, and let us fight some brightly colored aliens.

I'd also love for it to have a pause feature, so you could more easily micromanage, which sucks balls in constant real time. it'd also help if they went and did some more work in the units/balance department, because some stuff was just silly. So, the humans have a tank, which is well known in the franchise as "tank beats everything" but they also have a shitty fragile like tank thingy that shoots lasers that are extra special against vehicles but it has to go and deploy itself like a wannabe siege tank? And the humans don't have an APC/IFV? at all? Just the jeep that you can't put your dudes in? :wtc:

I got a couple more that desperately need sequels. First up is Sim Ant. You start off as a single ant then generate more colonies, fighting the evil red ants, killing spiders, collecting green food things, then eventually driving the humans out of their own house. It's awesome and was one of my favorite childhood games.

Next up is another one of my favorites, Designasaurus. The first one was kind of a simplistic side scroller/educational game. The second game was a top down almost survival type thing. You created a dinosaur out of lots of different parts. If you wanted a T-Rex with Pterodactyl wings you could do it. Fly around, sit in the trees, then eat another dinosaur. The goals were pretty random and silly, such as collecting floppy disks to proceed to the next time period. But it was fun and I want a new one.

I don't know about that. When I was 7 and first played SA I was given Arachnophobia for years from that bloody tarantula

Tie-Fighter. no need to explain

Also, a new Gangsters:Organized Crime. I loved that game. I know it had a sequel, but I never played it, because it was not the same gameplay wise.

I like the game because there was TONS of different ways to play it. You could strike fear into the city, or gain their hearts by setting up soup kitchens/donating to charitys. Mayor on your back? Bribe him. Or, have him whacked.

Oh yes, still the best Star Wars flightsim in my opinion.
And the only game where you can really play an imperial person that is not ridiculously evil.
Such a great game.

Instead of sequels, I would just like to see a few old games available as compilations like the Sega smash pack for PS3. If they can be just slightly updated with maybe a better interface or bigger inventory (since we have memory galore now :P ) , that would be nice. Of course, there are some games I would like to see sequels of. There are also games that was never "localized" (hate that term) that I would like to see available since it would be cheaper to do them now.

Skies of Arcadia - a remake or a sequel, I don't care. I would love to play the game again. I played the darn thing when my friend loaned me his game cube for a few months. I beat the crap out of it and had fun with every minute of it. The story was a bit predicable but with a few good plot twists. The game was awesome in the sense that it's a linear game but feels sand box like. There is a progression of things and stories but you could pick and choose your pace. There a lots of different game play elements to make it interesting. There are Suikoden elements, such as building up your base and decorate it as your own. You can recruit characters with unique abilities to join you. There is a ship to ship battle system. You can also make discoveries ( like new land) and hunt for treasure. The simple idea of just exploring and finding things is very fun in this game. It's too bad that the PS2 conversion was canceled at the last minute. I really couldn't justify buying a system just for one game.

SMAC - How about a sequel? Of course, it's impossible to write a storyline after that but we could follow the Civ example?

Shadow Hearts - Well, SH 2 is more like a prequel than a sequel, and don't get me started on 3. SH 3 is more like a "meanwhile" type of story. SH 3 felt like it was just thrown together due to some producer's "great idea" (probably too much westerns). SH 1 has some of the best atmosphere that I've ever felt in a RPG. The character's powers and backgrounds are fairly unique and offbeat (therefore memorable). The battle system keeps you on your toes and they use fun weapons. (It's the only time I laughed my arse off while watching a girl beating a demon spawn from hell using a book) The explanation and the game play elements based on the concept of malice is very unique. And the most important thing, they did their history and mythology right, which is quite impressive. Most of the games I've seen get it wrong. That's why the atmosphere felt so right. Anyway, I wish to see a proper Shadow Hearts 3, and not some jackarse's idea that he came up with after watching too many movies. A possible romantic plot point between 2 members of SH 2 can surely be used as a starting point.

Ur.., duty calls, I'll leave this as it is for now.

System Shock 3

fuck Bioshock, I want System Shock. and I want it to be exactly like SS2, but with better graphics and a new story.

A Darklands sequel, or hell, maybe even a remake in some modern 2D Iso engine would be good. Even though I love the original, better music quality and some sprite filtering to make it less pixelated would be nice.

Richard Burns Rally

I havent really played any Rally games post-RBR; they all seem too arcadey. A game like DiRT is bound to be fun for casual gamers, but going from RBR to DiRT would be a definate step backward for me.

I would really love a Group B era rally game, since we will never see cars that fast burning through rally stages near-missing spectators ever again. It would have to be ultra sim gameplay, offering training to get the casual driver up to speed, as in RBR. I commend the developers of that game not giving arcade driving aids options, rather, teaching us to drive the car fast. What an awesome game, RIP Richard.

Sorry about the poor quality, but this is INSANE! I want to experience this in a 2012 game. They almost die at 1:49, hit a wall, get a puncture, and still floor it to the end. The guy does not let up!

"maybe" means caution, "brow" means crest, or small hill.

I would love to get my hands on another sequel to BlooD, i love that vile, disgusting, borderline mind melting Game...

You stole mine. D= Though I'd definitely say a sequel, not a remake. Unless the remake really expanded upon the world. Or even just something in a similar setting (floating landmasses/ships, pirates, etc.)

I own the Gamecube version (to play on my Wii). Only thing I miss is the VMU mini-game from the Dreamcast version.
