Should NCR collapse and the games return to the West Coast?

Chris Avellone was the first one to suggest the NCR had gotten too big for its britches and needed to be set back to square one, which is where the idea for Lonesome Road came from in the first place. However, and this is why I love Avellone so much, rather than forcing this decision on us like Bethesda would do, he actually gave us the choice. We can nuke the NCR like he wanted, or we can nuke the Legion. Or we can just nuke no one at all. (honestly I usually nuke the Legion because I love the 87th Tribe armor)

Personally I feel like the NCR should be left alone instead of there being some sort of hard reset. New Vegas had so many different endings and mini-endings, I feel it should be left ambiguous. Otherwise you have something like Fallout 4 where they tried to make all the ending(s) of Fallout 3 canon and ended up just going with "Eh? The Capital Wasteland? It's still a complete shithole." as said by a Brotherhood guard so none of your choices were invalidated.

If Obsidian got to do a new Fallout game, I wouldn't want it to involve NCR at all, I'd prefer they go further East. I want to see what happened to the Deep South in the Fallout universe, and the Obsidian team has expressed they wanted to do a Fallout game in New Orleans before. Considering I live only an hour from New Orleans I'd love that.

Nuking the NCR was too drastic and felt too forced. If they must collapse do it in a more natural and smoother manner, rather then just blowing them up.

We have to remember that the NCR is a faction is debatably more important to the series than BoS. The BoS was barely in FO2 and I'm going to just ignore FO3, FO4, FOT, and FO:BoS (maybe not FOT; I don't know). The better question is "Should the BoS still be around?". Maybe turn them into a new faction that only has a handful of Power Armor?

Honestly, Fallout should explore a totally different area. The US is full of cool states with different biomes and culture.

I guess one of the things I've always loved about the fallout fandom is that it's not just a fallout fandom, we also tend to like anything Obsidian and Inxille puts out.
Somewhere down the line, I can see this forum being more of a fan site for them than a fallout fan site.

The alternative is that we will always get new people.
And when we eventually move into different things, the fans of 3&4 will find this place and complain about 5 or 6, feeling nostalgic for the former games.

We will get some of those fans who enjoy the older games and the next thing we know, there's about three different kinds of fanbases for Fallout.

I highly doubt the future of NMA will be put into question.
The old-timers have been around this long. It is conceivable that many of them will still be around after the release of Fallout 5/6. Also, I haven't seen a real member here unreasonably defend Fallout 3, even @CT Phipps and I will admit to the game's shortcomings(of which there are many). When the time comes for this post-Fallout 3/4 NMA generation to be the oldies, we will still defend the classics and New Vegas. We wouldn't stick around here if we didn't care.

Unless Obsidian is allowed to create another Fallout game, there is no reason to pay attention to future Fallout releases. We know that Bethesda is not getting better. Until then, or if Bethesda magically turns on a dime and decides to make proper RPGs, it would be most productive for NMA to focus on RPGs and developers that we can count on and love like Obsidian and inXile. Brooding over lackluster Bethesda titles will get us nowhere, though I do enjoy the occasional @DirtyOldShoe shit(on Bethesda)post.
