Signature Weapon

As of lately, my favorite weapons are good old dynamite and Love and Hate for close combat
I love to keep it simple, nothing fancy :)

That Gun, Hunting Revolver, Lever-Action Shotgun. Basically any Cowboy-gun.
I have a mod, which also gives options to mod all those guns.

I've started a NV runthrough, my previous being lost and in retrospect, having lost it's luster, so to speak. Basically became boring.

What I've found out, though, is that melee is CRAZY powerful in this game- as an example, I cleared out the Bison Steve with a baseball bat. And a combination of narcotics. Usually I've been able to down the convicts in a single blow.

So, for now, my signature weapon is a single baseball bat.

That-that thing is not even fair. I cleared the Quarry Junction with that monster. Then I killed the Legendary Deathclaw! And then Mr. House! It wouldn't stop!

Usually I use energy weapons, like the plasma caster, laser rifle, and the gatling laser.
When I feel kinky I'll use the hunting shotgun, marksman rifle or the assault rifle.

I fully upgraded a laser rifle and I think it looks pretty damn spiffy now, and it's become my go-to weapon. The AER14 and Pew-Pew look gorgeous, but no iron sights which is a shame.

Next time I'm going to be playing as a Man With No Name type, and I think I'll be keeping a 357 revolver by my side for a good long while.

With my current character, Paciencia has been my go-to weapon ever since I first saw it in the vendor list at Novac. Bought it with all the caps I had and haven't looked back. With hand loaded JSP ammo and regular AP ammo, it can take out everything I've fought so far with only a few shots. The small magazine is not a big problem with high agility and Rapid Reload.

But in general, for all my characters so far, I'd say the Anti-Materiel Rifle has been my absolute favorite. And in Fallout 2, I didn'r feel at ease without a Bozar. I'm looking forward to getting the Bozar in this F:NV playthrough, hoping it will be good enough to become my new signature weapon here as well.

A 10mm pistol. I'm playing a stealthy/survival character with a lot of skill in melee, but balls with anything bigger than a 9mm submachine gun.

I've given it a silencer so far... very useful for stealthy kills, and murderous with hollow-point rounds.
I *was* planning to buy a laser sight from the Gun Runners when I had enough caps. But then I leveled and I cannot for the life of me find another one on any vendor in the Mojave

On that subject: How worthwhile are 9mm pistol upgrades? I'm considering but I'd rather not waste 250 caps on something I'll ditch in a few levels.

What difficulty are you on? In my playthroughs engaging a Deathclaw in close combat is a death sentence.

You probably won't believe me, but... Very Hard. 8-) That playthrough was not on Hardcore mode, and I wouldn't repeat it on Hardcore playthrough I'm on now.

Power Armor and drugs generally make killing them easier. And, liberal use of companions as bait.

The only thing that CAN stop you is a flock of Deathclaws at the deathclaw sanctuary or w/e it's called.. And that is the only place where you should use the fatman  It's magnificent!

I'm allways playing on the max difficulty and there are several ways to handle deathclaws without getting shredded.. And they ignore armor so your power armor doesn't help!

Ah, that may be way. I tend not to wear PA in my playthroughs, and I always use Hardcore mode. I only do hard though. I find the very hard rules to be ridiculous.

Medicine Stick and All-American.

But if i have to choose one form of it it's really a 10 mm pistol and a hunting rifle.

So sweet to walk around with, too bad you get to much good weapons and ammo in fallout 3 and new vegas.
