Signature Weapon

I find myself rocking anything Lever-action, and my beloved That Gun. Thanks, Deckard. Though, when I'm especially pissed, expect Ol' Painless.

I rather liked the marksman carbine, I think is a bit like the SA80 the main difference being the postionment of the mag and trigger bing flipped

Cowboy Repeater and Mysterious Magnum; with the Desperado or Rawhide Cowboy Hat, it makes quite the get-up.

Fully modded Sniper Rifle, or Christine's Silenced COS Rifle (if for some reason the vendors can't seem to generate a Sniper Suppressor).

I love being a field away, taking out my targets without them even knowing I was not there. =)

Not only is it awesome but the Anti-Material Rifle was the in the early trailers with the NCR Ranger, I think its the best weapon in the game especially modded.

Even if it is my "fav" weapon it is far from the best ;)

Anti-Material Rifle and Riot Shotgun, I switch between them depending on the target being far or close to me. I find the former less versatile when it comes to close ranged shots and it takes so much AP you can usually shoot it only twice in VATS.

True snipers don't ever use VATS, though... =)

I'm always giddy when I start a new character if Chet starts out with a Varmint Rifle Night Scope, because that means I don't have to wait till I find the Rat Slayer to have my sniping fun. Even if he doesn't carry it, I still snipe my way around the earlier encounters in the game. I will shoot down the Convict guards that patrol Primm by ironsights alone, without them ever noticing me. Scopes just make compensating your aim easier, just like suppressors make getting away unnoticed less of a hassle. But VATS just breed laziness.

No sniper should ever use VATS with their rifle... no sir.

You get that outside of VATS, too. A real Sniper isn't just using scope or ironsights, he's killing silently. And in New Vegas that means slow-motion death recap, EVERY time! =)

Yeah, that's true ;) I'm using VATS just for comfort, I don't have a mouse in my laptop, so shooting via touchpad isn't always accurate :P
Also: killing Deathclaws in Quarry Junction with maximum Sneak, crouching, 8 points in Perception and Sniper Rifle, saves you lotsa effort and boosts your ego, so yeah :D

Lulz :D I'm so used to laptops now that I sometimes find it hard to work on a PC to be honest. But! No matter the circumstances, a good sniper will find the way to shoot his targets :P

Agreed 1000000% Snap! Love to meet a fellow stealth enthusiast!

My signature weapon is a fully modded sniper rifle (suppressor included, I can almost always find one at the Gun Runners--I play vanilla btw, so don't have any dlc). I also carry the AMR with me for when I'm in Deathclaw territory. That said, the silenced sniper rifle defines my courrier--she is well versed in stealth and silent kills.

Of course, as Snap pointed out, this means I next to never use VATS unless an enemy spots me AND can close the distance before I pop his head---fat chance of THAT happening.

If the engine were better, and enemies were alerted to your presence by actually noticing you THEMSELVES or by some cues from someone else, rather than the current "if A is within X proximity of B", then I would've loved carrying some kind of dagger with me for those instances. You wouldn't need to whip out the VATS for the one guy you failed to one-shot-one-kill, and unless he signaled to his companions where you were, you could dispose of him without alerting anyone else.

Of course, the engine doesn't allow for that.... But I can dream! =|
