Skyrim Special Edition First Impressions

So wait, it's confirmed that the script extender do not work for the special edition?
No source, but they are working on it. How long will it take? maybe several months? they aren't sure. But then you have to contend with "Will the cool SKSE mods care to port at that time?" or "Will those mod authors have to re-make their mods?" Who knows? Because it's based of Fallout 4's engine, it might be easier to port F4SE mods :(

I hope they cease all work on it completely as a big "Fuck You!" to Bethesdas last few pitiful attempts at making AAA games.
Probably not going to happen, but on the plus side, the people that are digging the remaster are new casual fans that won't last and old casuals/hype followers that won't last. Today was a great day for me for a few reasons. Primarily because I have strong feelings that this re-iteration will flop. Secondly, I'm no longer worried about people stealing my mods. The big group of happy people are like 95% console, and we all know how they are, it isn't their fault really, but they will move on quick. It is the console market nature. Just look at how dead Fallout 4 console modding is.

It's at 60% on Steam.

by the way, can you upgrade from regular edition to this edition or do you seriously have to shell out an additional 40 euro?

I went there to read the reviews just now. As expected, damage control and whining from the Bethesdrones, but it does make it clear that the "remaster" was nothing akin to that.

No wonder Bethesda said no more review copies until one day before launch while freely giving it to YouTubers that sang its praises and gave little critique.

So I guess I was right, it pretty much is just the original Skyrim with an ENB to make it look glossy and give the illusion that they actually remastered it.

Just dropped to 59%.

Sadly on Metaritic it is at 7 in user ratings for both the Station Of Play and the One And Only Xbox.
But it makes sense for them to be all "whoop whoop" about finally being able to get mods.
I do wonder how it will shift when PS4 users figure out that they can't get the same kind of mods that Xbox can.
I also wonder if the whole 'stealing mods' fiasco will happen again.

Could go lower. Hopefully.

Hey hey hey! They also copy pasted more foliage. :V

Both of them still have a limit to the amount of mods they can download and install as well, even though Xbone not as bad of a limit to the Ps4.
If they manage to scare most or even all the PC modding community away for Skyrim like they did with Fallout 4 they can kiss modding goodbye for not only that game but future Bethesda games possibly. That wouldn't look very good for Bethesda overall since that's the main reason anybody would tolerate with their derpy ass games, if this ends up being the case then maybe it will mean less sales.

Hey now they only want to make more money by milking this game by putting in the least amount of effort and money possible!

this is why you dont mix trump* and video games in one table /s

How do you upgrade from Skyrim to Skyrim Special Edition?, I want to get it, just so I can give it a bad review to balance out all the fanboys.

If you have Skyrim and all the DLCs, you should have it in your Steam library ready to install.

Holy shit is that bad. I think it's starting to piss off even the Bethestards now. Digging that grave the more they keep pulling things like this, to be honest I was expecting it to have atleast a 75% but this is hilarious. Are they giving this a separate Metacritic score because if that's the case and they happen to get a score like Fallout 4 or lower that would mean no bonus. :D
