So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs

Part of this year's Halloween costume. Still needs to be sanded, dremel'd, painted and etc but here it is:

The upper left gauge looks like a smiley turned 90°.
Anyway, awesome thingy. Where did you get it?

That does look quite impressive.
How much did it cost you?
I'm kinda sleepy now, could have missed the price on their site.

Let's call it Fallout: New Vegas cosplay, then people are happy even though nothing has changed. :smug:

Doesnt matter, both are equally horrible in my eyes, I should've bolded the "cosplay" word then mebbe? :smug:

When I think of "cosplay" - this comes to mind:

Why do people do this to themselves?

The "other" side? These are still grown up people dressing in videogame costumes. Maybe I'm missing some gene or something, but all I can think of is "this is awkward" when watching those pictures.

Yeah... so what? I see grown up people dressing in generic clothes, boring clothes, business suits, leather wear, latex, like a gimp, movie stuff, some dress as super heroes and fight crime in the night, all that and it doesn't affect me. I don't know why it should now- besides, if you don't live in japan, most of them only run around like that on events and special meetings, not all day.

/Edit: I have forgotten about the LARPers, who wear such clothes and do their stuff. This is awkward too? :>

Playa don't hate. Dressing up on Halloween with a bunch of friends is a pretty fun time. I can also wear it the next time I go to PAX and cosplaying isn't considered weird at an event like that. It's actually a great way to start conversations with people you don't know.

I have Princess Leia and Darth Vader costumes for the dogs, and a Boba Fett one for myself. They love it and it nets us free PETCO gifts, whats not to like?

I don't get why people hate cosplaying so much, or have a problem with it. I mean, it's not like you would get embarrassed, if that is the problem.

Sure, sometimes it looks a bit stupid (FAIL!!11!) or whatever, but it can really look cool and, if you have some money to invest in a hobby, it can be a good idea.
I personally don't do cosplaying, but I know people who've dressed up for some events, and such things can be a really great way of having fun. I personally, wouldn't mind having one Master Chief costume, or even Fallout 3 Power Armor, even though I'm not a fan of either of those games.

I only have a problem against bad cosplay, I mean if yo uare going to do it at least put effort into it. That is all, there are lots of incredibly elaborate and cool cosplays.

I don't know about the Pipboy 2000 but I bought it from a guy on http://www.therpf.com/

Specifically:

Bit pricey but the build quality seems decent. I've been wanting to do a Fallout 3 cosplay for a while and finally bit the bullet on actually buying something. You can see one of his finished models here:

Wow, impressive. :o The buttons are a bit strange but everything else is spot on.

So so far I haven't had much luck with this thing... it turns out that the bottom part is about 1cm too long for the top part that holds the screen. I don't know that I can dremel away the difference. Thoughts?

I e-mailed the guy who did the molds but I'm not expecting a replacement part.
