Star Wars: Solo

Real or fake star wars fans, it doesn't matter, both follow shitty movies, bond around that, guys.

I think some of them (MauLer for example) are just being contrarian to get people to boycott Disney, and wouldn't stop ripping into the movie if it was the best thing since sliced bread.
I mean how would you know they wouldn't stop ripping into the movie if it was good? Like let's say right now they are being negative for the sake of being negative. But they took your remark to heart and became truly objective (suppose there were such a thing). If, in their objectivity, they had to bash a movie because it was objectively bad (not Solo), but you happened to enjoy that movie: How would you ever know they were objective?
I have no obligation to like or dislike any movie...
You have no such obligation, that is true. But it sure sounds like you're trying to enforce one on someone else.

No. You should be suspicious of getting "review" information from a guy whose recent success is tied to just bashing any Star Wars movie that didn't receive fan approval.
Should I now?? Well, goddammit! Why have I been so trusting of everything everyone has been telling me all these years? I'll be very careful from now on. I have seen the light. Thank you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you! [You get this warm fuzzy feeling all the way down to your toes.]
So what YouTube channels am I allowed to watch?

There's two camps at the moment: People that like Star Wars and people that hate Star Wars. Then there's MauLer - he'll fly whichever flag gets him the most ad-sense bucks.
I'm aware that there's a camp that doesn't like Solo for legitimate reasons.
M-hm. So that's four camps then? Or am I not getting something again? Also, what camp/s do you and I belong in?

Businesses doing business things. Hate to break it to you, but GL began milking the franchise the moment it was a commercial success way back when.
Whoa, really?? I would have never thought of that. I'm glad you're here to tell us these things!

The fact you think this behavior is exclusive to Disney is hilarious.
Oh yeah! How could I forget? Back in the day, GL totally bought Star Wars from Disney, after having nothing to do with creating it himself, only to milk it into the totally bankrupt franchise he sold them back a few years ago. Wow, what a cheat! So misbehavior. Much inclusive. Such hilarious! Thank God for Disney!
GL profit from his own creativity... pff, what a dork. We don't do that here!
Then MauLer profit from Disney's fail... pff, what a dork. We don't do that either! Just learn the rules, idiots!

I said one thing about MauLer and you've launched into this tirade...
Yeah, that one wasn't meant for you personally, but rather for you in the plural, like "you all". Sorry (honest).

So. BFFs?

Keep building that strawman. I told you to be suspicious of such channels, not to stop watching them.

Hating Star Wars for legitimate reasons still puts you as a member of the "Hate Star Wars" camp. It's a generality.

I mean, are you just being coy or just a massive chimp that's trying to save face from the fact that he thinks milking has been exclusive to Disney all this time. Do you even have anything to say that isn't just some dismissive nonsense of "I already knew that mr captain obvious sir" even though you just spent a post talking about that very thing and how it's not obvious to people?

Are you retarded?

Well, that answers my question above.

Nah, fuck off.

I thought Solo was good. Much better than TLJ but not as good as Rogue One. I thought some of the explanations were unneeded considering that some are self explanatory. I.E. How Han gets his last name. The other one that sticks out to me right now is how the Millennium Falcon gets its iconic shape. Why not just have it at that shape from the start? I did like how they showed Woody Harrelson's character break down his rifle into a pistol and give it to Han. I think it's neat to show how long he's had the pistol and how powerful it really is since he never ditches it until his demise.

Yeah, the shape-explanation was totally pointless. The previous EU canon was totally happy with the YT1300 freighter being exactly that shape for whatever reason (one theory is that it was designed to also be a shipping container pusher/tug), no need to have that.
It's a problem with the movie in general, it tries to hard to explain every single thing. Han's past has always been kinda mysterious (in the movies, that is. He has a full backstory in the Legends EU), and people would have been happy if they only showed like one big thing in the movie.

Does Lucas Arts employ people to keep track of current, canonical lore or is it just a cluster fuck? I know GRRM relies heavily on his own wikia to keep his stories consistent.

The Falcon is also seen in ROTS and it has its OT shape.

There's a Lucasfilm Story Group that's supposed to do that, but much like Chancellor Valorum they don't have any real power and J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson overruled them all the time from what I've heard.
