The implication here is that people here haven't moved on and are not instead playing good games. Slinging shit at Bethesda for their bad games, at least for me, is for funsies because i like to criticize them for their shitty games.
I know there's a misconception from sites like Reddit that this site is forever stuck shitting on Bethesda and not do anything else. But we do that while playing good games. Fuck, we make kick ass total conversion mods for the original games that don't take literal decades to be released, while a lot of the total conversions from Bethesda games are still in perpetual development limbo.
Meanwhile Reddit and other sites spend a lot of their time whining about whiners, which is totally better and doesn't make you into a crybaby because some people dare to not like the same games you do.
Dialog and writting can't be modded.
You do know what is a total conversion mod is, right? Because that's not fixing the original two games, that's making new games out of those two games.
And Fallout 1 and 2 are great without mods. Meanwhile Bethesda games are terrible without mods and even after modding it, you have to avoid so much crap like the writing and quest design to have a good time.
Shit, the best Bethesda games like Nehrim and Enderal weren't even made by Bethesda but by fans. They only used two bad games as bases.

Well I play a lot of games that I don't need to mod the shit out of and I enjoy them just fine. In Fact New Vegas I only mod to make better not to change fundamentals of the game to make it not shit. Modding the writting and the dialogue? THat's not how modding works. Like it has been stated a lot of times before Modding in a skill system into FO4 is also pretty useless because the entire questing and game progression is built around the shit perk system so you would also have basically rework EVERYTHING to make a skill system worth anything in FO4, and at that point.... just play New Vegas or 1 and 2, or play another game, The Outer World has bad perks but at least skills work quite well.

Yeah it might surprise you kiddo (Mecha) but just because we post news about shitty Bethesda games does not mean we are slitting our wrists due to how bad they suck. Total conversions can exist, but dialog and writing cant be modded. Yeah, Enderal just has the same quests and writing of the original Skyrim. Someone clearly doesnt know what they are talking about... It is cute however you think 'this' community pumps out more content than the modders of Bethesda games. This is such a weird flex. More effort had to be put into Enderal than all of the Fallout 1/2 conversions combined; this isnt even a dig, its just facts. Modding Fallout 2 is changing some values in a text file. Changing dialog in Fallout 2, that nigh impossible feat, is simply a matter of changing some text too.Sounds like a bit of copium to me. Yes, because Enderal is totally just Skyrim and not a complete separate entity with its own questlines and sidequests detached from vanilla. Meaning it doesn't do jack shit to vanilla quests, dialogue and writing. Now i wonder who here doesn't know what they are talking about.
The point here is that a lot of the writing and quest design in Bethesda games are utter trash and completely terrible to the point that you have to drop them in favor of much better writing and quests. Same thing with the dialogue, you would have to rewrite to the point that you would ask yourself why even bother. Just make new stuff up instead and people do that with total conversion mods.
But please, do show me a mod that rewrites and redesigns the entirety of a Bethesda game to make it less dumb and bad. And not just change gameplay or fix bugs or change textures.
Not specifically this community, but the community that focuses on the original two games for total conversion mods. There's a wasteland of total conversion mods for Bethesda games that haven't been finished like Skywind, Morroblivion and so on. Meanwhile the original Fallout games have gotten plenty of TC mods in recent years and much better than the crap Bethesda releases.
Don't confuse "hyper specific expectation" with "basic as fuck standard". What some people want from Bethesda is games that don't insult their intelligence. Basically not make games for babies, specially in series where the target demographic wasn't dumbasses that don't actually give a shit about your franchise except if it's the flavor of the month.

The effort would be wasted. You would get a lot more people on your side as a community if you were less Toxic. You want games to be better but the community you have built around that idea is just a really shitty place to visit. Bethesda wouldn't listen to your arguments simply because of where they come from. Bethesda does listen if the stink is loud enough and constructive enough, the big TC mods the community has made would be more popular and more widely played by people if the community wasnt garbage to new people.
As for time and place, there is no time and place here because all of the content is the same virtually everywhere you go. You would say the exact same stuff to me no matter the thread it was in, lol. I don't plan on sticking around really. Just viewing all of the negative content isnt good for mental health, much less engaging in it. I don't visit twitter at all or reddit very often for the exact same reason. Judging by your post history here (really cool feature btw) it hasn't done you any favors either. I am in the discord and its really dead. I am betting it is so because for a lot of people its bad enough that this is the only site with good Fallout 1/2 info but you have to dig through the slog to get to it, but the feeling that it would be the same shit but faster and live on discord is probably highly discouraging.
Edit: Also, its funny how often you use the word fag, but you also, probably(?) live in Toronto Canada, one of the most liberal places in the universe. Do you say it a lot because you can't say it anywhere else so you have to get it all out of your system here?

Apathy is, in zoomer speak, "cringy". Who enjoys being apathetic all the time? It's a very teenage emotion. If you have kids are you just going to tell them life is shit, you won't get what you want, people are dumb, and prepare for a life of disappointment? I am 36, I have played all the same classic games you did, when they were new. A lot of them had a lot of great things in them. But I also learned to just move on and find new things to enjoy in newer games, maybe that sounds "cringy" to you. And all of that being said, cRPGs DID make a return, Pathfinder and Pillars in recent years, Shadowrun games a decade ago. The stuff is still there it just isn't post-apocalyptic Fallout. Companies make what gamers want, bethesda fans keep buying bethesda games because its what they want. Other companies make cRPGs that do well for a cRPG but they dont surpass Fallout 4 or so in sales because most people don't want a cRPG (or the elements that make it one). Accept that you like the niche things and stop being so mad about the fact that your niche thing isnt the "in" thing.
I didnt expect to get anyone riled up, I expected people to be apathetic and doomer about how their favorite franchise was in their words "raped and dumped" by Bethesda, and I was disappointed that that is in fact what I found. And the only reason I did that was because I had an issue in Fallout 2 with saves being corrupted that google and DDG literally had not but one answer for and that answer didnt work. I wouldn't have posted otherwise.
