Stupid Watergate - or how to impeach Donald Trump.

That line of inquiry has doomed the Democratic establishment. It doesn't work the same way in Republican land.

Moscow Mitch might disagree. But I get your point.

China is paying the Democrats. And Russia the Republicans. Can we settle on this, Dopa?

Perhaps. It's a worse look for the Democrats because Russia's oligarchs aren't all members of the same political affiliations. That's just my opinion.

What everyone sees is they have to vote this way or that way because they feel like they are under attack from the other side.

Haven't I been saying that the only people who can bring down the America are Americans?

The best things Russian and China can do to curb our power is to convince our gullible and naive hippies to hide our heads in the sand and let Russia and China do whatever they want.

Should US be allowed to do whatever it wants? For example to destroy the nature of the planet, to promote economic systems that take away human rights from workers, non-whites, etc.?

In a perfect world? No. In world where we have eliminated nations and everyone plays fair, of course not.

Should China be allowed to do what it wants? Russia? Like I have been saying all along and history has PROVEN, there will ALWAYS be a country that gets to do what it wants more than others.

In a real world, where every nation is selfish and is looking out for its own interests? If someone has to do it, it might as well be America.

At least with America, you have a separation of powers, have leaders that get swapped out, and is pretty fair when working with its allies. The other 2 nations that are closest to being world cops are dictatorships where you will get ZERO chance of changing government policy if the dictator says no. The other 2 nations in this picture have a dismal record of being even remotely fair to its treatment of its allies, let alone the world. The other 2 nations were both communist and still couldn't get along. It is truly a testament to how incredibly selfish these nations are. The other 2 nations also happen to be ethno states who are clearly ok with overt racism. If they were to run the world, we know how fair these nations would treat their subordinates.

Given all the above and more, America is CLEARLY the best equipped to be world police. While no nation is corruption free, at least our corruption has limits. American politicians have a healthy fear of the press. My leaders have their powers reigned in so if they fail, it won't be a lifetime of failure. My country actually gives a shit, at least to some degree, in regards to considering the interests of our allies. My leaders do not murder their colleagues or black bag their competition in the dead of night. My country doesn't treat females like second class citizens, throw citizens of certain religions into camps (at least RECENTLY, I speak of you Crni), or thinks murdering homosexuals is perfectly fine. My country is not rolling out a social credit system where if your not a good little drone, you will be denied opportunities in life.

Lastly, we may pollute, boss others around, look out for ourselves, but so does EVERYONE ELSE. As long as there are dirty humans eating, drinking, fucking, using power, there will be fighting and killing. There will be competition where there are winners and losers. There will be overpopulation.

We will get to utopia land eventually, but science and technology will get us there, IN TIME. Mean while, we need to understand that the world is a certain way and accept the fact life will not be pretty all the time and everywhere.

If US as a nation would make the "political compass" -test that some here made, it would be at a certain spot on that map. Europe and EU would be at a different spot. I prefer the position Europe and EU are.

And yes, I understand that Europe's wealth, especially in former colonial nations, is partly built on a legacy of exploiting the rest of the planet and third world nations. Europe isn't perfect but in terms of political views today, I prefer the European way of thought to that of US way.

So now comes the question? Are you euros wiling to pay to become a balancing force to the U.S.?

Having a military that can deploy across the globe, that can credibly win a conventional war between Russia, China, or both, costs money. Your social systems are already taxed high, can the people handle more? You already have riots in France now and in GB a few years back. Both Greece and Spain are trying to recover with austerity.

From what Crni has said, you euros are quite proud of sticking your heads in the sand. You don't like bossing others around.

The Europeans need to have a fundamental shift in their view of geo politics. They need to be willing to pay for super euro force. And they need to keep together and not have any more headaches like Brexit.

Brexit is UK's and England's problem, not EU's.

As for a EU/European military, UK isn't going to sail away even with Brexit so I think they will continue to chip in with their carriers bought from the States with UK tax payer money etc.

I think there should be some kind of defence force for Europe, not necessarily gallivanting around the planet but to offer military defence and also help in stuff like natural/climate disasters etc. around the planet. This military should not only comprise of eastern European individuals, it's about time western European guys and gals started chipping and putting in the service in the forces instead of eating chocolate and playing video games. Russia isn't afraid of weak fatties.

So if the U.S. and Europe isn't going to gallivant around the world, that leaves Russia and China. This is much scarier in my opinion.

I thought you preferred a Europe that minded its own business? Why would Europe defend Taiwan if the Chinese wanted to take over? Why would Europeans risk the lives of their sons and daughters of there were no benefits for doing so?

If you meant just for European defence alone and fuck everyone else, that still costs money. Greece and Spain for sure cannot pay. If GB herself wasn't directly attacked herself, why would the Brits risk their peoples lives over some country that isn't theirs?

I don't think it works like that. Either Europe takes charge or someone else does.

I think either UN has to do the gallivanting or a newer better version of it. The US opposes a stronger UN because it wants to rule the world and gather all the riches. A strong UN would enable the world to become more egalitarian and generally a nicer place to be for everyone regardless of things like skin colour.

The UN problem is not a sole U.S. issue and is multi-faceted.

It is clear as day the main problem with the U.N. is the permanent security council AKA the big 5.

America, France, GB, Russia and China.

Any resolution can be vetoed by the above nations and they never lose their seat at the big table. Many non security council nations have been complaining about this. The problem is, there is not much trust. Since it is such a powerful position, the big 5 only want to give nations access as long as they support the others interests.

Russia and China want to add their allies. We would like to add ours. Problem is we are often dead locked.

Other problems include the U.N. has no separation of powers and everything substantive is governed by the security council.

Another one is that U.N. resolutions are often non binding and there are no punishments for defying a U.N. resolution. Much like how Russia and China could care less about our sanctions on N. Korea and Iran.

But yea, I can agree with you here. Much like in The Expanse universe, the U.N. should be the primary governing body. Individual nations, AFAIK, should have their power, at least economic and militarily, be taken over by the U.N. It is also interesting that the population on Earth had grown so much that that most people have no jobs and people sometimes have to wait decades for one to open up, or even to get training for a job. Everyone essentially lives on a UBI.

So pretty much as I said before, I don't things will change anytime soon until science and tech advance us far enough to the point where competition for resources will be greatly reduced.

Trump is facing serious charges in the US.
Salvini in Italy is facing charges and maybe even prison in Italy.
Netanjahu in Israel is facing charges.
One of Bolsonaros extreme right wing ministers had to go because of charges.
Strache in Austria caused new elections because of his crimes and corruption.
And the list goes on ...

It's almost a pattern for the right wingers.

Well one could argue that corruption has existed and will always exist on some level.

We will see if these folks can weather the storm or is it time to bring in someone new.
