Super Mutants and Enclave - Badass Decay?

Wimps? In APA and with high tech weapons?
Dude, their badassness has nothing to do with their HP.

About 60 HP would be enough to make them look tough.
 
Yes, and two crits to the eyes would kill them easy.

Besides, someone pointed out that an average NPC in FO2 has more HP than an average FO1 NPC. I think they HAD to rebalance the system because you could have more companions and more powerful weapons than in FO1.

They are supposed to be the ultimate antagonists in FO2, so why not?
 
Enclave in FO2 weren't THAT bad if you had 150% small guns + gauss rifle and aimed for the eyes. It was those blasted ignore armor shots that made them a real threat.

Well, APA was stronger in FO2, and they still had those armour-bypassing shots...
 
Its not game balance thing its players skills you now can aim and shot and move how you like in F2 it was like this:
1.Click on gun (combat mode on)
2.Shoot pray that % is high...
3.Repeat...sometimes use stimpack...

What we need is maybe fev balance fixes...

Power armors maybe stronger a bit...but who are we kidding head shot from shotgun from close range no armor can take that...

For better or worse i like Fallout 3 combat except vats i dont use vats...i hope the improve AI and were good to go maybe then it will be worth to take NPC with you...

And i really miss caravan missions they were such fun protecting brahmin while mutants wants to eat them :)

It's all about the ammo. Buckshot? No way. If the ammo you fired on the enclave troopers were slugs, it would be okay. But hell, ANYPLACE you fire on them, it hurts like hell. If I was packing something like a Plasma Rifle, ok, but no, my shotgun is stragely ubber-powerful, despite being repaired with scavenged equipament and sometimes so damaged that it's pretty much being held on by junk, spit and prayer.

Its not 100% buckshot...actually im not sure theres no discription...

But from close range in face? it would hurt even if it wouldent pass though armor...so unconcious?

Becouse they ripped it from Deus Ex? combat shotgun is fine i like it...maybe the Spas-12 desigen would be better...

There has already been a couple of threads on how stupid it looks. Actually it looks more like a bastardised Russian PPSH than a tommy gun.

I miss Gauss guns, then again there wouldn't really be a point to them as there main reason for being in previous Fallouts was the armour piercing.

exactly...so everything is designed by game designers and in their opinion power armors were to strong in f1&2...90% of weapons were useless against power armor...
 
I think that's the point, the only unfortunate thing is that they're too easy to find with prior knowledge to their locations, so repeated playthroughs require the player himself to resist the temptation to make himself an impenetrable beast for the weaker enemies.

That only makes it worse that Bethesda solved that problem (in a rather shoddy manner) but completely failed to make the wait and effort worthwhile.
 
And it's not just the S.M. and the Enclave. Look at what they turned the Centaurs into! The fearful beasts now look like a bastard child of a mutated rat and a Bloodsucker from STALKER! Not to mention how pathetically weak they are.

I haven't found centaurs hard in the canon either. They we're pretty weak as I remember and it was floaters that kicked ass and chewed bubble gum. Nevertheless, centaurs look very unlike the original ones. What happened with their second head?
