Talking Heads

Variant 2:

I'm trying to match this shit as close as possible.

Mr. Whip's head is much larger than Rhombus' one. If I scale to make it more similar (size) then umbrellas become gigantic again, so WTF? :o

As to Mr Whip - I liked the version with the tatoo on the side of the head better.
Me too. I made it to fit (more or less) into dogmatic, in-game description.

Anyway, question for 1K points: how umbrellas should look? :ugly:

2, 3, and 4 variant are looking almost identical from the front... Maybe Pete the Blond will forward some files to us...

I prefer variant 3 or 4, leaning a little more toward 3 though.

If 3 were tweaked to be a little deeper (width front to back), but not as much as 4. That's how I would like to see it.

Just my 2 cents.

Female head has similar proportions to Rhombus' one - everything make sense now:

Walking (and stretching your body) tank for the win! :D

Nice stuff Conti…I wish you wouldn’t remove the earlier images; it’s nice to see the progression. This is obviously a female character, anyone in particular, and what sort of hair are you think of giving her. Forget the afro, it doesn’t quite fit the wastelands (if Fallout was only based in the 1970’s).

This is ghoul face I´ve been playing lately. I felt that FO2 lacks this type of TH. I would like to stress out that Im abosolutely not satisfied with this and appreciate any suggestions. My goal is to make something like "semi/half-ghoul"

Jeeesus! That's detail, man. I almost feel it's TOO good for Fallout 2, remember this is a 640*480 resolution we're playing with. He looks too evil for Lenny, maybe he'd fit on Gordon Gekko?

He still looks too much like a human who got some car accident (maybe this is due to the skin-like color tho'). He should look a bit more like some rotting corpse.

The amount of details is pretty pretty.

Yes those are the tip of the ice-berg of what we are all capable of. I really do hope we see more of art such as that.

I am not sure how to describe this, but i think you need to balance the deformed head by unbalancing the only obvious major deformity of the ghoul.

I think the stylization of the model is critical. Ghouls are practically skeletons with flesh attached to the bone. But check out how exaggerated Decker looks; remember he was originally a clay model before they put him into the game.

Yes, i agree with Pixote - remember Fallout art is heavily stylized and not focused on realism.

Great TH, BTW, though. REally nice detail on the skin. But as Lexx says, to me it looks more like a TH from a car accident than a FO TH. And yes, as Pixote says, - to make a ghoul TH i would take a skull as a base model, and then add flesh to it. Not realistic, i know - ghouls aren't very realistic - but that's FO, baby.

Super cool, nyi!

I like your version of Ghoul much better. Original ones are too much "damaged" (:ugly:) for my taste. Only add original critter and you have BRAIN! FRESH BRAIN! Mindless zombie freaks :yuck:

Not sure what is more annoying: Power Armour or Ghouls...

Anyway, care to share the alphas (if any custom ones were used there)?

So I tried to de-humanize him, but my skills are very limited and what some of you propose (i.e. to start with skull and add some rotting flesh) is way beyond my capabilities not to mention I agree with cont´s opinion about their (ghouls) not so real zombie-like appearance. Anyway, thank you for your suggestions, they are very useful (not in ironic way!!)

Please, this can not be considered for tip of the iceberg, and Im not being modest, just realistic, there is much to learn (incl. english :) )

Btw, there is no texture applied on, only thing I did was short color tweaking in PS to highlight some new "details".

Cont: Thank you, im glad you like it:)
ad alphas. Yes i have plenty of those, but none is used in this case. But if you wish i could upload them somewhere.

EDIT: I perceive ghouls as "tumorous people, who live in constant pain and occasionaly shine at night".

This version is almost perfect. I think Lenny would be a good recipent of this head.

Just needs that single, large, lidless eye staring down your soul to be perfect...

I agree, this one looks much better. Just needs a cool texture and you can animate him. :P

Always had in mind Lenny being a bit skinny (an the majority of ghouls) so judging by the head of the center wouldn't fit lenny , but that's my view tho.

The other post looks like he had his face burned. And i'd say the texture looks to much like hand skin rather than face skin.

Looks nice overall but the top of the head seems way to narrow to me. Have you used any references for the skull?

If you have some cool-ish alphas for human skin (especially face) then you may be so nice and upload them for me. I downloaded some custom ones for pores and wrinkles, but I want MOAR! :D
