Talking Heads

Do you plan to make combat armor at some point?
Probably yes, but without that ugly helmet. At this moment I don't need it for any TH I got under construction.

@ IMissLark

It's not a proper texture. I just added 3d diffuse - mix of dent and splat (plain mesh sucks even moar). The same mixture went to bump map slot.

Anyway, I took Mrs. (Ear)ring (from the beginning of this thread) to the pimp my (b)ride process (it's still some sort of WIPie):

Isn't she cute? :wiggle: And no, she isn't emo, she's punk!

Not my kind of looks on a npc but! I see 1 problem and maybe it's just me.. The hair looks like it's "put" on her head and not comming from her head.

Yeh, the hair isn't the best. It looks a bit too unreal in this case.

Nice! reminds me of Razor from this oldie FO concept art
Yeah, some time ago I stumbled across Razor concept while reading Fallout wiki, d/l'ed it and actually tried to make something like this, but this wasn't a good day - I've failed miserably (and quite fast). And since I'm pimping stuff I made half of year ago I decided to change hair of Mrs. (Ear)ring. I've tried with long, black hair, but they looked like shit, so I made a punk, because punks are cool and moar interesting than ordinary people/hair styles. I didn't even think about Razor.

They're coming out of her head.

Just like the hair/eyebrows/beards of original TH, which are looking moar like some sort of blurry clay than hair. So stuff I'm doing here isn't aimed at realism at all - I'm even skipping eyelashes creation, since original THs don't have anything like that. I'd even say that her hair are moar realistic than hair of original THs, but maybe it's just me... Sure, I can play with misc. values, but I wouldn't expect any dramatic change.

Well, there haven't been many talking heads with long hair anyway. Most got short or none hair. Vree was bald, except some hair on the backside, running over her shoulder. Laura got long hair, but it was covered by her robe. There is no talking head with hair directly into the face, so maybe it just looks unnormal to me because of that.

I personally like the red head,

Damn straight! :P But there is one thing: I've noticed that all your current TH's to date (which I think are all really good) seem to be rendered out with a very similar lighting and contrast, which makes them all sort of uniform. Remember Nicole?

She's punk, and even she has a warm glow of contrast on her face! (Instead of pale  ) You should play around with that :postviper:

This is correct. Original talking heads all have been somewhat colorful.

Yes, yes, yes, Ghouly. I'm using exactly the same skin color (only Hue/Saturation adjustment layer is changing it) since first TH :D Some day I'll need to seriously pimp the texture/material for each TH :yuck:

Anyway, I've switched back to Mr. Cyborg today:

Not too young and not too old. He's perfect for me.

I must stop doing this shit - I have no time to play the game I'm doing art for (fuck, I don't even have a time to install it ), but then again - I'll need to mod the shit for better gaming experience :wall:

That looks amazing!! I... I think I'm in love 8-) The false eye and facial hair make it perfect

Why isn't this in the RP already??? :ok:

Hmm, think you need to tweak that facial hair.
I think the hair is too thin, more like a kitten fur rather than some hard beard hair.

Great job Conti…and yes mod for us, you can play the game when your 50. Now it’s time to animate Cassidy and give the man a voice *cough Dravean*…

I just spent the past hour or so recording. This would be a helluva lot easier if I were a 60 year-old man from the south. Damn me and my state as a youthful Yankee!

There can be no modding and playing at the same time! besides, like you said, you're doomed to always find something that needs improvement... lololol (me too) :P

Anyway nice work with uber retro terminator Cassidy TH.

I agree with this though;

The beard seems like that of a somewhat older man, i'd suggest making it a bit more populated, shorter and with less grays.

As for mrs. (Ear)ring i think that the opposite side of her face looks a little 'empty' somehow (which seems exacerbated by the 'paleness')... How about making her eyes green and giving her a small tatto bellow the eye like the concept for Razor?
