The Commercilalization Of Fallout AKA Bethesda Attempts At Cash Whoring

Cash whoring aside, even the costumes and merch look like some kind of cheap knockoff goods you buy in some bargain bin. As @Juza The Cloud points out, there are other things in Fallout that could be turned into merch and with the kind of money Bethesda has, one would think that they'd make better and more creative merchandise. But of course, Bethesda has to continue being lazy.
There's no Bethesda logo fucking him in the ass.
The Bethesda flag kinda makes having said logo pointless. That said, something should be fucking him in the ass. The logo of the Bethesdrone collective?

And another thing why is all thier vault tec products geared towards Vault 101 and 111 only ? You would think they would have a vault suit sweatshirt for example and have it blank with the option to put up to any 3 digit numer on the back. Not only would I get a vault 13 sweatshirt/hoodie but they could market it towards thier falloutshelter app. You have to number your vault in the app ergo why not get a hoodie with the same numbers of the one you built in the app itself. Customizable merch to cross-promote thier app in marketing parlence

For kids yeah that stupid but Bethesda din't make this or licence it so in all fact this is probably illegal or something.
Add an awesome touch to your child's Fallout-inspired costume with this officially licensed Power Armor helmet!
  • Officially licensed
  • Dimensions: 7"H X 10"L X 10"W
  • Material: Latex
  • Care: Spot clean
  • Imported
  • Officially licensed
  • Includes:
    • Jumpsuit
    • Mask
They are both officially licensed. Which annoys me because why would Bethesda license Fallout stuff for kids and on top of that such shitty quality too...
Sorry chaps, but this is getting ridiculous now.

Merch isn't a cash whoring attempt by Bethesda, every fucking company does it.

Some companies only license their stuff when the product actually has some quality in it...

I wouldn't mind them selling mercahndise, the fact that it's targeted at little kids is what pisses me off.

How many kids do you reckon would understand complex RPG Mechanics?, or appreciate large quantities of dialogue options?, or enjoy character building and world design? or would get references to mature topics like drugs and prostitution?

I bet you that most kids would probably not care so long as they get to shoot stuff.

It shows blatantly that Bethesda is targeting an audience that Fallout should never target, and will only contribute to the streamlining and dumbing-down that Bethesda does to all there series.

The thing is, every franchise/product has a target audience.

Who they are trying to make money off of, shows who that target audience is.

We don't care they are making money, more that the way in which they are doing so reveals a lot about them.

Now your just making up reasons to crucify bethesda.

Blizzard did Wow lego and overwatch plushies for gods sake and they don't pander to kids in those games.

But overwatch is a 12a game ? Fallout is 18 ?. I think is morally wrong to be selling children's costumes related to the game the fact its an 18

OR you could put Todd Howard's face on the flag and apply the Bethesda logo to the rear or Todd Howard assuming the position behind him and keep the flag the way it is.

Half the population is obviously 40+
Your proof? I'm guessing that you assume that half these people playing WOW are classified under older basement dwelling neckbeards?

I, normally, would not have a problem with the Halloween costumes. The Batman Arkham games and the Assassins Creed games have been selling Halloween costumes for years, but the difference is is that the costumes for The Batman Arkham games and the Assassins Creed games have always been catered to adults. You are not going to see a nine year old girl in Harley Quinn's outfit from Arkham City or a nine year old boy dressed in Ezio assassins outfit. With Bethesda, however, they want the Fallout series to be like Star Wars. A series that caterers to all ages and that is where the problem lies.
Fallout was never meant to be a "fun for the whole family" type of series. As @Dr Fallout stated, this is a series where there is prostitutes, cannibalism, hardcore drugs, addiction, discrimination, extreme violence and family friendly topics like, torture, slavery, rape, murder and genocide. This is a series that was made and catered to a mature and adult audience. If Bethesda is looking for a "family friendly" cash cow then they are barking up the wrong tree with the Fallout series.

This reminds me of the Abe's Oddysee remake. A game that depicts corporate greed and industry as this great evil, mocking product placement, yet has scoreboards advertising real games. They did it with Munch's Oddysee as well with the vending machines.
