The first Season of the Fallout tv show is out

Read this on Tim's latest video: "It happened a long time ago and therefore people could be lying or simply be wrong" is a very good excuse for inconsistency in a franchise lol.

Except in Fallout's case, we see these things happen, because we've played through them. It's like how Marcus states: "Your people are going to tell a different story, right?" except we know as the player how the events of the first game play out.

Does he think wikis and other places that store every single minute detail about a franchise don't exist? Because they do.

I'd say wiki's are also untrustworthy, as they are quick to alter information as soon as newer information is presented. Like how the Fallout Wiki puts quotations around "creator" in regards to Myron creating Jet.

Honestly I'm excited about season 2 only for the fact that we will finally see what is the canon ending to New Vegas. Is it Mr.House? Caesers legion, NCR, or the divide.
I'm calling that the canon ending will be Independent and that the city will be destroyed because the Courier was a bad leader. Bethesda would probably do that.

Tbf… that makes perfect sense and fits into thar games theme of having no good side

Ι've been replaying Fallout: New Vegas and this dialogue with Caesar feels particularly relevant, considering that Fallout Amazon (and the franchise in general) is essentially BoS porn by now.

"The BoS is a dead end, it's been 200 years and they still behave like scavengers".

Meanwhile, this tv show: "POWER ARMOR! VERTIBIRDS! PALADINS! I'M GONNA COOOOOME!"
I don't think this particular criticism of nu-Fallout really holds for the show, the Brotherhood is portrayed in its most negative light in the entire series. They're religious fanatics (and they do Christian-style religious ceremonies now so they're hitting you over the head with it as opposed to the nuance of earlier depictions of their religiosity) who destroy anything in their path. They capture children and raise them up as borderline illiterate morons who only exist to lug around ugly machine guns and die in the service of power-armored troops.

I bet he's hiding how he actually feels about it, you know him being professional, humble, & "keeping the peace" so to speak. ;-)
Eh, I can believe this for Chris or Josh, but Tim really just seems apathetic to me. I'm sure he's not voicing ALL of his problems, but he probably found it basically enjoyable and just happy that his original IP is so big.

I understand why the wikis do stuff like this, since they're trying to present a wholistic, universal (some might say "encyclopedic") accounting of knowledge about the fallout world, which means all the pieces have to fit together...

...but it's so fucking irritating whenever I'm trying to check some piece of information that any clarity is obscured by post-hoc garbage meant to align old lore with new slop. I wish there were a version of the wikis that only took into account 1, 2, and NV... and another that only took into account 1 and 2... and one just for 1... Heck, maybe even one just for 1, 2, 3, and NV, and other permutations that one could imagine. Pie in the sky, I know.

They looked far better back then than Fallout 3 and look even better now that Fallout 3 has aged even worse. Fallout 1 and 2 also have style and personality in its graphics and animations, something Fallout 3 completely lacks.

Fallout 3 isn't butt ugly because of the green tint, it's butt ugly because of the horrendous textures, the awful animations, and just overall really badly put together models. Metroid Prime 1 looks better and that game came out in 2002 for the Gamecube.

And it's not like Fallout 3 had anything to make up for its poor graphics because the combat, rpg elements, the exploration, the writing, the world building, the story and most of the quests suck too.

The main value of Fallout 3 is that it's an open world experience, not just locations interconnected with loading screens between them(except for indoors). It was still a fairly novel concept in the early 2000s. There's a limit to texture quality on that scale. It's always easier to take more care in the details when you limit your scope. Fallout and Fallout 2 are higher quality pieces of art, but the first Fallout especially is extremely short with a limit on unique locations. I already admitted as much about the style and personality. There's an essential experience there in the world building, dialogue, and tone of the first games that isn't present in anything Bethesda makes. In contrast, Fallout 3 is mass produced content. There's nothing wrong with not enjoying it because you've experienced better creative direction elsewhere. I just think there's nothing wrong with enjoying a larger volume of content at a lower quality.

Well Fallout 3 came out in 2008. So it isn't as novel as you think.

Sure Fallout 3 might have looked like ass, ran like shit, was buggy, crashed all the time, played like it was stuck in frozen mud, had all it's RPG elements removed and had zero understanding of the setting, BUT it did one thing that a lot of people really liked by scratching that lizard part of the monkey brain that makes one giggle with glee whenever something gets blown up and obliterated.

Just so I'm clear, I don't think fallout ever got good after the first one.
Also toronto was right, this forum is full of whiny faggoty bitches who don't know when to leave an abusive spouse that keeps gelding your genitals shut with a pair of red hot tongs.

I mean you've got a right to your own opinion regarding the quality of the franchise, but as for the latter part of that statement, it's very much pot meet kettle.

I am into some freaky shit so it's not much of a problem for me ;)

So he stuck around to make other peoples lives miserable, got it.
Make the lives of these people miserable? It doesn't take much to make everyone here feel miserable. You could change the color of what a door looks like in Fallout and people would bitch and moan.

It's time to find a new religion, a religion that's worth gatekeeping. Fallout is not one of them.

There's a difference between disliking some aspect of a game and actively harassing fellow forum users.

Also, a door having it's color changed pales in comparison to oceans deep level of changes that have gone through this game series. If anything it would be more of a mild annoyance as the series constant contradictions keep getting piled up.

While I agree there are users on here that are close-minded and just aren't happy with anything regarding the series, I don't particularly see rubbing it in their face on the daily as any sort of epic win or any less pathetic than crying about the state of the franchise on the daily. This is a fan site for a franchise, the oldest one for this particular franchise at that, so people who frequent this forum are obviously passionate about the series to a certain degree no matter what side of the opinion camp they fall on. You're gonna get a veritable smorgasbord of opinions, so I don't understand the thinking that the entire forum is one homogenous misery-fest. Some people just wanna talk about a series they like, no matter how long they personally believe the series has been dead or dying if at all. Especially when a new release for said franchise comes out. What's wrong with that?
