The good aspects to Fallout 3?

Oh yeah the the dilapidated silhouettes on the horizon look great. But it's always a disappointment once you get there.

That's why Fallout 3 is best left alone and uninstalled once you've gotten tired of looking at the first vista after exiting the vault.

The story was also the best thing Beth had written since Morrowind.

Story?
"Once upon a time there was a sickness, and the cure was a baby. The End!"

At least it showed some creativity and moral ambiguity and such.
I remember when I first tried it, I thought "Finally! No guns, slavery, survival, I am going to have to actually work and slave and earn my way to - oh, it's raining guns. RATATATATATATA!!!"

Raining guns? And there were more elements to the story than that iirc. Wasnt the concept of trogs stolen from van buren?

I'm just being grumpy:D I was so enthralled by the idea of giving all my weapons away, and putting slave rags on, that I was really dissapointed at finding a variation of guns and armor so soon after commencing the main quest there. By the time you engage the bandits there, the whole idea of "less weapons" becomes moot
To be fair, The Pitt was my favorite part of all of FO3

I'm also a bit of a "go naked to a DLC area"-type, I wanna go there unprepared. Dead Money did it quite well, for example, while Honest Hearts kept telling me I couldn't bring my enormous arsenal - aw, allright then, DO bring your huge arsenal, and I'm all "no, that's fine, I brought pants and a pea-shooter, I'm ready to go! :0"

Wasn't like, only one game between both? Oblivion, and no other else.

Frankly Morrowind's story is the best I've played in any Bethesda/Fallout game, if only because of how it progresses, like a true Messiah prophecy, instead of "bam, you are the Dragonborn!".

You actually work your way up to being a Messiah and prove your worth multiple times over.

Exactly. I like how when you first meet the ashlanders and are tested, the dunmer goes "you are not the Nerevarine, you are only one who could become the Nerevarine".

This year I learned a lot about Greek customs and oral tradition, and it made me appreciate Morrowind's story much more in hindsight.

I also love it how the only difference between you being the Nerevarine and the other's not is because you succeeded. That's literally it.

It's even better when you realize you have Azura's blessing and nothing else. It's, in a way, a prophecy stands true because people are continuously trying to fulfill it.

I really need to play Morrowind (It's on my laptop, ready to be played).

But I think Point Lookout is the best part of Fallout 3.

Gothic seems good, and I like the aesthetics of Jade Empire.
Gothic's good so far, but the control is... special to say the least.
Jade Empire is pretty good so far.
It seems to be before Bioware got up their own ass so there's that at least.

I shall, I have a list of games to complete beforehand however.

But maybe after I'm done with Jade Empire or Gothic.

Make sure you have the two expansions for Morrowind too. Yes, expansions, not "dlc", we're back in the day now, when they were called expansions! Also get "Tamriel Rebuilt" which makes Morrowind huger than ever, and will take you for fucking ever to complete!
That way, you'll be playing Morrowind untill you grow old :V

Of course I have, picked up the GOTY edition from Amazon for like a fiver.
I tried to play it once but I think I underestimated what kind of character I needed to make.
