I still fail to see the need for there to be a post-Danzig Misfits, especially, what, 20 years later? They are like some watered down Saturday Morning cartoon now, they've got less edge than the Munsters.

A far cry from their NJHC roots:

President's bullet ridden body in the street
Ride, Johnny, ride
Kennedys shattered head hits concrete
Ride, Johnny, ride
Texas is an outrage when your husband is dead
Texas is an outrage when they pick up his head
Texas is the reason that the president's dead
Ya gotta suck, suck, Jackie, suck
Arise Jackie-O
Jonathan F. Kennedy will rise and be shot down
Dirt's gonna be your desert
My cum'll be your life source
And the only way to get it
Is to suck
Or fuck
Or be poor and devoid, and masturbate me
Masturbate me, then slurp it from your palms
Like a dry desert soakin' up the rain, soakin' up the sun
Like a dry desert soakin' up the rain, soakin' up the sun

That was the Misfits of old, not some Groovie Ghoulie wannabes overdoing it with the brylcreem and steroids.

The death of punk is fait accompli.

I never liked Danzig when he was in the Misfits. He was more punk then Graves in his singing style, it was annoyying. Graves was a really odd pick for a punk band but it worked. As for the roids its all part of a band image and merchandising, i think.

How do you separate the two? Danzig wrote all the original material himself, and the only reason the name still exists is because the current incarnation pay him royalties.

Right, I think you could say that of pretty much everything they've done since Danzig left.

@AskWuzzup - you always get my old school juices flowing. One of my favorite lyrical onslaughts from Ice-T:

Yeah, nothing like a nice old school track. They don't make them like that anymore....

Normally hate Japanese rock trying to be western (or any Jap rock) but they do it well and the mixing of English and Japanese is pretty crazy. I like it.
