kumquatq3- It's a possibility. EA has a shitload of money, and making EA games and slapping the "Interplay" name and logo onto it might boost sales... I don't know... Interplay is fucked... for the moment...

I hope to god that the good guys from the "former" black isle get together, maybe even with some of the original dudes from fallout 1 and 2, and make fallout 3. It would be a shame to see EA get all the fallout licenses and then not do a thing about it.

Problem is...to who? Probably the highest bidder. Sounds like EA to me.
I doubt (censored) would sell the rights to Fallout until they see how well FOBOS does. If FOBOS tanks, then they screw themselves because it will devalue the franchise by association.

If FOBOS, due to whatever deal they make with the devil, manages to succeed, they'll hold on to the rights to continue to use the name on future products based on the same line.
Licensing is the more likely option, but I doubt anything will come of this anytime soon.

Electronic Arts /did/ publish Wasteland, although they've been sitting on the rights for that, and IIRC that's why Fallout was not developed as an official sequel. I don't see EA buying up Fallout after they allowed the rights to Wasteland to slip away to inXile.
In any case, we all love Fallout because it's a post-apocalyptic game done well. Black Isle weren't the only ones capable of doing that, and we can hope inXile, Troika or some other talented company will take a chance on the genre in the near future. (We know inXile will, and Troika has at least mentioned doing a Sci-Fi RPG.)

I think that the best possible option would be if the dudes from the old Black Isle made Fallout 3, but what about the people over at Bioware? They make damn good RPGs. I'm like in the middle of KOTOR right now, and its unbelievably good. Granted, that's a (more or less) first person type of roleplaying game, as opposed to the 3rd person iso view that we all came to love, but i don't see that posing a problem. They could just as easily make a great game like fallout 3 using, say, the jefferson engine.
