You mean the actual game performance, or the development of the maps? The former has no significant input at all, even on my old barely broken PC - only thing that takes slightly longer is the actual loading of the map. As for the latter, it doesn't really slow down the development of the game, even though I have to admit that I am re-iterating older maps of mine with the "new" look (I want them to look a bit more detailed like in the Infinity Engine games). But who cares, I am just doing it for fun and my own pleasure.
