The Sino-American War: A Matter of Months Or Years?

I'm curious as to speculation on what sort of Main Battle Tanks that both sides were using?

M60A1 for the US. Maybe even a fictional Abrams, with no composites and sloped armor, as well as a rifled 105.

T-55A for the USSR. Maybe even a T-64/T-72.

Some Chinese knock off T-54 for.. China.

Some version of the Abrams seems plausible, though perhaps as fuel shortages increased and the Fallout-Verse Abrams were withdrawn due to logistical issues I could fully see a variation of the M60 being re-activated rather than being a front-line MBT.

Yeah, it also can be something like the GM XM1 which used a diesel engine.

In combat, it probably can look like this, with ERA, etc:

So is there any speculation on whether or not the Berlin Brigade were kept at full strength, or would they have been drawn down as more personnel were needed for the war in China?

I would say they probably abandoned Europe during the war with the Middle East. As the US didn't get involved in that conflict, and it would be hard to stay out of it if US troops were the victims of nuclear attack

Would that mean that the Soviet Union could take over Europe without much of a challenge? Why would they want to though?

Perhaps they did. It's never really mentioned. Or perhaps the European nations strengthened their armies to a degree where it wouldn't be practical for the USSR to invade. Particularly if there were tensions with China and/or the USA elsewhere and they couldn't face large losses fighting in Europe.

Well it seems that Europe was a mess from infighting so I'd say they would be weaker.
