The worst of the worst - Evolution in gaming.

It's pretty commonplace nowadays. People's limbs would get blown off in COD:WAW. I don't think the media cares too much about the poor kids anymore - people are super desensitized to violence/gore.

The subject of sexual violence is still pretty taboo and largely implied rather than shown. Not sure how the MSM would deal with Fallout 2 in today's climate considering the main character can get date raped.

Yea I don't want to go on a tangent, Crni wasn't referring to all this but, yea. Cartoonish violence has always been ok in US media, more realistic maybe not so much. In gaming, what is the most realistic violence that's around? Limbs getting blown off can be done in a cartoonish way, not sure how it was in the game you mention.

I'd say even today some of the games that get the visceral reality of violence right, the way I remember the impact when I saw it, are games like first two Fallout's and some war simulators. Games that are mostly 2D/isometric and have basically no bunnyhopping etc.

Another thing I hate in gaming is stupid minigames that have nothing to do with the game type/style I am playing.
The last wrestling game I had played was many years ago on PS2, and recently I tried playing WWE 2K17 for PC... The friking game is all about minigames, you want to grapple the opponent you have to play a minigame, you want to pin someone, minigame time, escape grapple, minigame, escape pin, you got it, minigame once more...

It's a wrestling game! It's supposed to be two or more muscle bound giants beating eachother to submission and all I get is, *pause action and beating* spin this control stick faster than the opponent while keeping the bar on this circle stay in the highlighted area, press these buttons at the right time as this bar flashes, press these buttons on the right order, etc...

People don't seem to know what fighting games are anymore...

I fucking hate WWE games.

Its not about who's the 'better wrestler' (HAHAHAHAHA...Its...Its all scripted acting anyway...), its about whoever has the reaction times to beat the stupid fucking minigames with every grapple and special move.

The AI for example, is 100% RNG because of this.

I had it on medium one time, with the most OP character ever, one game they didn't block anything, another time they blocked with a 100% success rate and beat me within 20 seconds.

Wrestling games didn't used to be like that in the PSX and PS2 (at least the ones I played). From where did this stupid minigames came from? Who wants to play wrestling where you don't beat the opponent but instead the game pauses the action and gives you stupid minigames?

*Old man voice*
