Three things I honestly don't get in Fallout 3.

After watching Fallout Brotherhood of Steel (FOPOS) again today, I realize that Bethesda's Fallout 3 really is more of a sequel to that game than to Fallout 1 and 2.

Think about it, the Super Mutants are pretty much the same as in FOPOS, as are the Ghouls.
In fact FOPOS first introduced the zombie like Ghouls with radiation based attacks Bethesda continued in their game.

FOPOS also first came up with homemade weapons like missile launchers, flamethrowers, and laser weapons, Bethesda simply continued that in their game.

Well... F3 super mutants looks great. They resemble some angry proletarian worker from some kind of dystopia society:) Very well made concept. Glowing ones can irradiate you in F1-2... Yeah, they not toss radioactive shit around, but does this really makes a difference?
And homemade weapons is a real nice thing, except for those absurd "crazy scientist" thingy. It makes sense, but i wish to be able to cut down a rifle to a pistol, or made a makeshift scope, not to construct a teddybear-shooting vacuum cleaner he he)

Well i might be getting a new comp and might be buying F3.

But from videos I've watched and such here's what I don't get:

1. The VATS system. What the heck? The system itself is OK but the enemies don't go into "VATS" mode when you do.
It's like their combat is slowed down even more than yours, they can't heal/use stims as easily as you by just pausing and their aiming doesn't get better. I bet you can beat anything with VATS if you know what you're doing and have a devent set of weapons.

2. The fact that a guy within the FIRST town you enter hires you to out of the blue use a nuke to blow it up is baffling.
For him to then trust you to go to his mansion, armed and "press the button" ... is moronic.
I mean to be able to do something like this in F2 or F1 you really had to earn peoples trust and this is freakin F3. It should've been even deeper.

3. Stuff has no real ways of going "around" the main quest in any way. You can't defeat the Enclave in the "final battle" without the huge robot. At the same time the huge robot can't die.
So you can basicly afk for 20 min and do nothing.

Is the game really worth buying despite these things?

Yes, jackass 2,000 who has insulted this game, it is.
