Thursday Modding Update

Actually Cafe of Broken Dreams works quite well. The Cafe in Fallout 2 was a homage to the first game, and a lot of Mods will strive for this as well.

Some more suggestions:
The Bunker - where the BOS came up with and made their weapons.
GECK Deck
Hit the GECK
Mod Away Thursday! - sorta rhymes.

Give it a few months and you'll be able to sort by most downloaded effectively. There goes all the junk.
This is what bothers me most.

The most downloaded mods will be pink power armor and green underwear.

While there are certainly mods that will attempt to move the game closer to how Fallout was originally you have to remember that a lot of the new modders for Fallout 3 will actually be modding to make it more like Oblivion. Well maybe not 'more like Oblivion' in that they will be dumbing the game down and decreasing the importances of stats etc, but rather the style of mods will be more reminiscient of Oblivion/Morrowind than of Fallout. Fallout 3 is just basically the next Bethesda sandbox game to a lot of these people. If you read a lot of the request threads that are popping up on the Bethesda boards then you'll see that most of them are more suited to an Elderscrolls game than a Fallout one.

As for the name what about Fallout 3 Modding Update. It's simple and tells you exactly what it is.

Sure, but won't NMA be focusing on the more Fallouty ones?

These mods give me hope.
Though I think it will take some time, at least a year maybe before some ground breaking changes. Not that the content one has already now is not fun. But I am talking about modificatins to make the landscape of Fallout "make more sense", if you know what I mean. Like towns/villages that actualy could defend itself. And eventualy even at least visualy a economy that makes sense (to see slaves working on some fields from time to time ...)

Sadly I think that not everything can be fixed. After a conversation with Gizmo he said the skills like Bethesdas SPECIAL stats might be hard-coded in to the game engine ... which makes it converting to the true Fallout skills complicated ...

I might be wrong but I think they specifically put in placeholder stats for use in mods.

TBH, I'd say 90% of the problems with FO3 can be fixed with a lot of time and the G.E.C.K, there are a few things like lack of vehicles, etc. which aren't so easily fixable, however.

What about "Garden of Eden", as they already named their tool G.E.C.K.?

Or just Thonged Thursday -- oh, wait, this is for Fallout 3, not FOBOS, right?

This name is taken.
Hahahah, I was gonna suggest that as well but remembered it being used for the Fallout Wiki.

Cafe Of Broken Dreams: +1 for me. Seems fitting, and has extra meaning. Yeah, make a poll.

Bethesda calls themselves Vault-Tec, we can call ourselves the Enclave.

Or base the name on 50s advertisements.

Settled on a name yet? Guess I can suggest a few.

Poor Man's DLC?

No DLC Allowed?

Free DLC Roundup?

Although I feel you'll alienate people if the new name doesn't have the word "mod" in there somewhere.

The Brotherhood of Steel would be more accurate, though with Fallout 3's BoS it might be wise to go with the Outcasts. :P

The only thing that came to mind for me was something to do with mutations, possibly Mariposa Mods, West Tek Mods, or Mutation Day... Yeah those all suck, I'll stick with "A Mod to Build a Dream On" or "Cafe of Broken (or maybe 'Unrealized') Dreams".

Name?

-Sharpest Tools in the Shed
-Mr's Fix-It Super Toolkit
-The appearance of the Mechanic of the Year
-"Hand me the wrench, honey"
-Vanilla No More
-"Now this will come in handy"
