Aaaaand this is the problem with wisdom tooth tales:

gonz, if people didnt tell their tales, then what you would have is a forum of first posts only because nobody would talk about their experience.

and that would be a really boring forum.

Unless you are SuAside, Silencer, Carib or Welsh it's Gonzalez for you. They are the only ones allowed to shorten/alter my name so far ;) :)

What? How does making fun of it makes me against it? Not even the guy in the video is agains it, he does it himself, that's why he wants to walk on the moon afer all

It's the third day and I swear other than the self-knowledge it's like I never lost a tooth. I wonder if the fact that one side of my head is now slightly lighter than the other with have any effect on my life?

The gums that grew over the space left by the tooth feel so odd. Makes sense since the rest of my tissue has been the same since birth except that one little area which is only a few day old.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

No one. Seriously. No. One. Who demands anesthesia with his teeth is a sissy.

I once allowed the doc to do something without it because she assured me it would not be required (just a small thing to "do") with the result that she was breaking trough the teeth or something like that (no clue) but she had no other option then to continue and finish the job. Maybe it was only 5 or 10 min. But boy I never felt so much FUCKING pain in my whole life. And I have read once that some people never do any kind of anesthesia.

Never took anesthesia at the dentist in my life. The practice of anesthesia in regular treatments like pulling out a tooth or drilling a cavity is almost never used here.

Anesthesia is a totally acceptable thing for dental surgery. Nerves in your mouth can be sensitive like a motherfucker.

I had a broken tooth surgically extracted a few years back. While it was just novocaine, the last shot was right into the remails of the tooth and oh holy fuck did that shit hurt. On the upside, the actual surgery bit took all of fifteen seconds. Seriously, I was with my mom and she though she was reaching for something to remove the tooth with, but nope, my dentist was fucking awesome. other than some serious pressure on that area, I didn't feel a thing.

If you don't pump me up with chems first then keep the DROKK away from my mouth!

That's my policy at least. I can play macho in other fields. Besides anything that's anesthesia/pain killers/other pain diminishing chems and such I always like very much, regardless of if I'm going to actually be in a lot of pain or not :P

I'm always in a lot of pain anyways.

Had my lower wisdoms removed a few years back. Overall my mouth feels much better since then. I don't accidentally bite the inside of my mouth anymore.

I actually had the dentist put his foot on the chair next to my head for leverage while he had the pliers in my mouth. :D

The next couple of days were pretty rough. I even had a fever from it. A week later I was fine, and considerably better off for the experience. I took one codeine right after the pull, and just aspirin or something after that.

universal, that means your tooth was actually infected.

either it was about to blow up into a full on infection, or it was some infectious agent that was stuck down there and couldnt be removed until the tooth was.

but it means you had an infection.

Who knows. There's all kinds of crap floating around in people's mouths, mine included. I'm not surprised I got a fever from a having big gaping hole in there.

As it happens I had another wisdom tooth extracted about 28 hours ago from the time I'm writing this.

This tooth was an upper, was not impacted, and was fairly small with shallow roots. I took a couple Tylenol just before the numbing injections started to wear off, then another two after the first two began to wear off, and after that it didn't hurt anymore. I barely feel anything now. In fact it feels better now than it did 30 hours ago. Easy-peasy.

I have to say, that crunching sound as the tooth gets pulled out is pretty impressive. You can feel the vibrations.

I got a 5 percent discount for paying cash: $137. Very reasonable.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out in Iraq. I didn't mind the pain because I got 3 days off work with Vicodin. :D

Heh, I can still feel how my upper ones got removed. It was very memorable.

I salute you!

How do you feel about your oral health now that your wisdom teeth are gone? Personally I couldn't be happier to have had them out. In retrospect they caused all kinds of irritation for no benefit. I would recommend getting them removed to anyone who asked.

Thanks.

Yeah I'm a broke ass, so oral health is at the bottom of my list. I have decent teeth though, and overall my mouth is better without the extra teeth.
