Troika's PA RPG shots!!

Backgrounds of these pics as well as that green circle around character's legs much reminds me Gorky17 game. Hell, dunno if anyone recongise game I mentioned but that's my impression.

i can tell you that it certainly aint the same engine as Gorky17 Frog... but yes, that green circle looks the same, but most green circles look alike dont they ;-))

anyhow, this is exactly why i wanted trioka to get the license... AAAAAAARG

anyhow, even if it's not in the fallout setting, i'll surely buy it. i'm confident they will do a great job on it... lets hope they've learnt their lesson with Arcanum & TOEE.

Impressive.
The look is just right.
I do hope that they get a "go" for this project.
Troika and a PA game would be heaven for me, at least.

Damn, check out the tech demo shots while Alice Cooper plays Wicked Young Man in the background :)

If this ever hits the shelves, I'll be sure to check it out.
Lets hope there are some guys from Troika here, checking NMA out (wouldn't surprise me).
I bet they've got the public backing. Would mean that they'll have to find a publisher that have balls.

These shots are definitely impressive.

I have a feeling that if the camera was zoomed out more (which I assume you could do, due to the 3d engine) that the game would look eeirly familiar to Fallout.

Anyway, I really hope that this game gets made, whatever it is (possible Wasteland game, possible Fallout 3 pitch?).

Also, as was asked earlier in the thread, anyone know why it's on hold?

I doubt it's Wasteland 2 - I don't think there are good relations between Fargo and the three Troika founders.

Maybe this would have been Fallout 3 if Troika got the license.
On hold, could be of a lot of reasons.
But you asked for facts :)
My guess is that they want to finish off Bloodlines first, or that they are discussing if this game will go "live" even without the Fo-license.

Only Troika has the answers :D
Lets hope someone press them for info soon.

It's not an FPS. You can't compare, duh. "Isn't gonna cut it?" even though it looks far superior to ANY other 3D RPG in existence?
Of course I can. Genre has nothing to do with it, duh. I'm not sure why you think RPGs should look inferior to other genres, but I don't hold that belief.

If the graphical quality doesn't quite compare with recently released, and near-release games, you can bet the effect will be much more apparent if the game is released 2 or 3 years from now. I think the fact that the screenshots don't have much in them affect my impression of them as well. But like I said, I realize these shots are from a tech demo, so I'm not expecting the final game to look the same as the tech demo.

Get past your ignorance and realize that the graphics are mind-blowing.
I'm ignorant because I disagree with your opinion? I didn't realize your opinions are superior. No one likes a dumbass. Don't be one.

I think he meant more that you can't compare the styles - there's a world of difference between 1rst and 3rd person.

Great shadows, great lights and very "Van Burenish" in the feel.

Hey Bethesda guys, see how one can make a cool looking RPG without a first person view? Please take notes.

I don't care if it's Fallout or not-- it looks awesome. Troika is the best hope we've got for innovative, genre-busting computer role-playing games. Arcanum was slightly flawed with regards to its combat mechanics, but its story and quirky genre place it right under Fallout in my list of all-time favorites.

Hmmmmz... a halberd/rifle combo....

Coolness factor 9, usefullness (in the real world) factor 2... at most.

Still very cool.

Oh but people, looks are nice, but that don't make it a great game. In fact if I saw THAT guy in a screenshot that was supposed to be a Fallout 3 screenshot (which I realise this isn't and was never intended to be) I'd start to have serious doubts about it living up to the fallout background.

I definately think this game could have potential. Lets all hope that is isn't yet another Fallout-esque letdown. We're all getting tired of those.

Ah, since I got basically told to look elsewhere for the games I want at the Bethesda forums, maybe this could be it. :D
