Two more pieces of Wasteland Workshop DLC incoming

I'm not so sure about that. I think we're getting a bunch of little garbage DLC and only one large one. Two more Workshop DLC and a quest related one would round out the 60 dollars. They've really jumped the shark on this. I mean, it's really telling when the DLC for Fallout 3 looks better content-wise.

I'm having a hard time buying into the notion that Nuka World's some big piece of DLC. I get the feeling it'll be along the lines of Automatron; a couple of quests and mods, if that. I wouldn't put it past them that it's also another Workshop DLC.

In a way I'm almost relieved at that. I've been expecting them to release a DLC set in the Mojave for no other purpose than to completely retcon New Vegas out of the series, just because they can. If they don't or can't release another large DLC then that's off the table.

Considering how it appears they see how much the players want aspects of NV back, and how they've listened and shoe-horned things like better choices and stat checks into the latest DLC, I doubt they'd be stupid enough to touch NV with a DLC. We can only wait and see, however.

This was found in the files of fallout 4. Apparently Bethesda, yet again, has not learned from their mistakes and is releasing TWO more Wasteland Workshop DLCs (keep in mind, even most of the people who like Fallout 4 hate the first one). This is not officially confirmed yet because it was found via datamining along with references to a "Nuka-World" DLC, but I bet the three going to be revealed at Bethesda's E3 conference.

Also, this is my first time posting on this site, so please be a bit gentler on me.

If that discovery turns out to be true, and I wouldn't doubt it because Bethesda tends to leave hints of future DLC in new ones, the Season Pass holders will be up in arms. Rightly so.

Since my roommate has the Season Pass, I'll be awaiting his reaction to the new DLCs. (He's not a Fallout fan, just a shooter one.)

I will laugh my ass off if there are two more Wasteland Workshop DLC's. Is there supposed to be another "big" expansion like Far Harbor or is that the only one? Because if not, then how the fuck is the season pass actually $60?

Interesting thing is this. Will it be the last DLC pack or there'll be 3rd pack too?

They tried to do an arena with the previous Workshop DLC, maybe instead of focusing on items for the subsequent ones they'll focus on other things to make settlements more fleshed out.

You know what would actually be a good "Workshop" DLC? If they created one that added in tons of new named NPC's that offered unique services, quests and items for sale that would go to various settlements that fit their criteria. That would mean that there'd be a reason to get Settlements up and running. Unique stuff you can't get otherwise. You put in your effort and you're rewarded. (Then again, this should've been in the main game.)

Bethesda left hints in the base game of Skyrim which is how PC players found out about Dawnguard early so it's no surprise.

I also wonder if Bethesda is going to release another story driven DLC for Fallout 4.
So far all the DLCs are rather underwhelming. Automatron could just as well be a part of the Wasteland Workshop one as the questline behind it is pretty pointless.

Don't you guys understand, Fallout 4 is already near perfect?!
Why can't you just get over your nostalgia and be happy that Bethesda has brought back the Fallout series?

I can't believe there are people who actually happily purchase these "expansions". It's like that one tribe that has never encountered contact before. Just a group of people totally devoid of any good taste at all, smiling as they wallow in bethesdas feces.

I essentially picked up the Season Pass with an understanding that previous Bethesda DLC is better than the main game. When they announced the DLC back in March (?), I was left very disappointed, I mean, I was looking forward to Automatron until I heard it was essentially a Mod for New Vegas, now I just feel Bethesda are dicks.

Wasteland Workshop is just a stupid idea, I was doubting whether I should Download it or not, in the end, I did.

The only DLC to actually impress me is Far Harbor, and that's because it felt like they put in some actual effort. I like it, but there's no denying how much it borrows from previous DLC.
So I begrudgingly download all the DLC, not happy with what Bethesda has given us.

And I feel a lot of people on the PC side of things feel the same way. The problem with being a Console Gamer is that you find people are happy with anything thrown at them.
And that pisses me off, because there was a time we were going against these kinds of business strategies, this is how you don't make DLC.

Personally, Fallout 4 may be the last Fallout game I purchase, unless Obsidian are given another shot (which I highly doubt, considering I think Todd Howard can't sleep at night knowing the people like New Vegas over Fallout 4). Bethesda have proven themselves time and time again they don't understand Fallout.
All the things that Fallout 1 satirised, Bethesda has taken seriously. They've become the Vault Tech of the gaming industry, and they don't even know it.

And the biggest thing is, I don't hate Bethesda, they seem to be one of the only few companies who can make interesting Open Worlds, it's just a shame that the game that goes with those Worlds is far from interesting.

I'm not going to think of Fallout 4 as a dumbing down of the series, but rather an insult to anyone who cared about the series to begin with. It pisses me off to think this series could have been something else, now we get Bethesda fans (their not Fallout fans, they don't like Interplay's Fallout) who think they know what the series is. And the truth is, I can't blame them, it's not their fault that Bethesda doesn't understand the deeper meaning behind the series.

And to top it all off, Bethesda knows that Fallout does sell. New Vegas was a powerhouse, and it could have ranked even higher if they let Obsidian finish the game. But nope, Bethesda is too stubborn to admit they were wrong.
And what do they get for it? Massive sales and a die hard fanbase.

I understand this went way too off topic, but I've never had so much fun badmouthing a game. It's so refreshing to just talk shit about Fallout 4 with people who also don't like it. And yet, I still play it, possibly because I'm one of those dumb asswholes who I try to stay away from.

But yeah, if there are two more pieces of Wasteland Workshop DLC, I won't even be surprised. Fallout just isn't Fallout to me anymore, it's become a cooperate shadow of its former self. And that's how I'm starting to feel about the gaming industry as a whole.

I wouldn't be surprised if the industry soon starts to implode on itself, it kind of needs to, but it's starting. Look at the new call of duty trailer, that's been down voted like crazy.
What about the constant special editions and shitty expansions?

Soon gamers will be fed up of all this, the PC lot already has, and the Console lot should begin to wise up a bit more.
What we need is for industry to really implode, we need less COD and more Witchers, we need more games to be released for niche markets instead of cattering to the masses.
And I say that because A. Those games are much more likely to become a breakout hit and B. The general audience won't be left confused if a series takes a different turn.

Fallout fans were left confused and angered at the direction Bethesda took the series, Bethesda fans don't know what to think of New Vegas, and there are those stuck in middle who generally prefer New Vegas.

I said the biggest problem with gaming is not that it's drawn the massive crowds that it has, but that every company feels the need to cater to every audience, that most games are released to become tired and stale .

But anyway, I should stop going off topic. The point I'm trying to make is Fuck Bethesda.

That's because a console will always be starved for content, and for that reason a lot of console owners will defend those scraps they get to the death.

You know what... you're right.
I like consoles, I have a number of them myself, but I do find them lacking... and for good reason.
I mean, Consoles can't keep up with tech, only trends.
I doubt I'll be seeing a new console connected to TV when the next gen comes around, hopefully I'll be working a job which allows me splash out on a grand PC (and considering what I want to do, a PC would indeed be helpful).

I'm starting to see a few people, not a lot of people however, go against what is happening to Consoles. Essentially, I see a change happening there, but very slowly.
And I don't want this to sound like it's the fault of companies like Microsoft or Sony, it's the fault of the Companies who exploit that fanbase to earn an extra buck.

Or if you're MrMattyPlay's, you're just a cooperate whore (seriously, the guy had a review of Far Harbor the day it came out, like, I barely started a script when it came out. I understand he probably got it before everyone else, but still, was he that desperate to become the first person to review it?)

I used to like consoles when they were their own thing instead of big AAA games having to be cross platform.
Even when I owned an Xbox 360 and a PS3 I only bought games for them that were original to these platforms.

I have no idea what the future of game industry will be like but I do know it can no longer continue on like this. Gamers who have been with the industry for decades are starting to become fed up because of the declining quality and titles having to have as much mass appeal as possible and are starting to leave for other hobbies like reading, traditional games, and so on.
I have barely played any game myself this last week because I am tired of playing the old ones I have over and over and I have no interest in buying a new title that has just been released.

Totally agreed. I'm a console owner and cannot afford a PC or even have any space to build one at the moment, but I definitely want to switch in the next few years. I see sales for PC games all the time, you don't have to pay a bullshit fee for online play, mods, and almost every game is superior to the console version.

I've just been so disinterested in gaming lately until I got Bloodborne and subsequently delved deep into the Dark Souls series during these past few months, but i'm on a slow decline again. I love games that hook me with their gameplay and (rarely) stories. I don't give a shit about having a 5 hour cinematic "experience" with a by the numbers cliche as fuck story that I will forget a week later, and that's what most games are nowadays. I'm just fatigued, i'm tired of every game looking and feeling the same, and i'm tired of not being interested in a single thing that is announced save for one or two titles.

There's always wading through the river of shit that is the indie-scene to find the occasional gem.
Really though, last game I bought at full price was Fallout 4. One prior to that? Probably a Telltale Game or Pillars Of Eternity. I can't comprehend how people churn out 60 bucks for new games constantly. You wanna find good games? Then look towards the indie market. Wanna find low prices? Go PC and use Steam or GOG to exploit their sales.

An indie title I just played was pretty good. Primordium. A post-apocalyptic point and click adventure where humanity is extinct and robots are trying to survive in a dying world. Good storyline. Great characters.

I don't mind cinematic games, as long as it's not what plagues the industry.
I like my Metal Gears, but I also like my Fallouts.
I always said my favourite is Metal Gear, but I can't play those games nearly as much as a game like Fallout New Vegas.

As someone who wants to work in the industry, it's probably the best time to try and get in.
As I've stated before, there will be an implosion, not so much a crash, and hopefully after that implosion, we find consoles having their own personality. I know I'll sound like a dick, but I'm kind of annoyed that games like Shenmue 3 and No Man's Sky are getting PC releases, if only because it takes personality away from the PS4.
Microsoft have appeared to have given up completely and unless you want to play Halo, you may as well skip out on the Console and just play their games on PC instead.

Edit. Nintendo seems to be the only company who releases consoles that have their games and aren't plagued by industry trends, but they are sadly in the shit and might not survive the next ten years without help.

@Mr Fish I agree as well. I haven't had the chance to play many indie games as not many will run on my toaster of a computer, but the one that I decided to play a few months back that I just absolutely adored was Hotline Miami. Such an adrenaline rush of a game, and it had a fucking killer soundtrack and i'm not even that big into electronic music, but I loved everything about that game. Also, fuck paying $60 for most of these titles. I don't really buy many games because i'm so cautious about being burned, especially for that price.

@Graham2077
Hotline Miami 2's even better IMO. More story-line focused so it plays a bit differently because of the characters different playstyles but its soundtrack is better, the storyline is better and has a really suiting climax for the Hotline Miami series, the characters are more interesting, the mechanics are updated and works way better and it has a level editor that I've created like 2 dozen new levels for. Oh and it has a Hard Mode so that you can get even more vein-poppingly angry than before. :D
