Two more pieces of Wasteland Workshop DLC incoming

@Graham2077
Hotline Miami 2's even better IMO. More story-line focused so it plays a bit differently because of the characters different playstyles but its soundtrack is better, the storyline is better and has a really suiting climax for the Hotline Miami series, the characters are more interesting, the mechanics are updated and works way better and it has a level editor that I've created like 2 dozen new levels for. Oh and it has a Hard Mode so that you can get even more vein-poppingly angry than before. :D
I've played Hotline Miami 2 and while I enjoyed it, I did like Hotline Miami more. I sorta liked that you were a silent protagonist with no real explanation as to what was going on, it was all up to your own interpretation, and then with the Biker ending, it was left ambiguous. HM2 does have some excellently written characters and a more cohesive storyline, but I did love the vagueness of HM1. I also disliked the fact that you were forced to switch characters every few missions for the sake of the plot. I enjoyed using Alex and Ash more than anyone and once the Fans were gone, I kinda stopped enjoying the game. I know it's petty but man, using that character(s) was so much damn fun. Still a great game though, it's a shame that there's not gonna be another.

I think the reason why many people didn't enjoy HLM2 as much was because they were expecting another HLM1. Hell, even I felt like something was off by the time I finished HLM2 for the first time and like it might have been a waste of money. But as I replayed it I got to enjoy the characters far more. I could see why
The Fan were killed off
I started to enjoy the way the levels complimented the characters and how it forced me to change my playstyle depending on the character. I realized how the mechanics of the first game weren't even nearly as smooth, how the levels weren't even close to as interesting, fun and challenging as the sequels and the soundtrack still blew me away.

HLM1 is like an abstract acid trip of adrenaline. It leaves a lot of stuff up to the imagination of the player.
HLM2 is more focused on a story-telling experience. It wants to conclude the storyline and world of HLM and managed to shock me with its twists quite a lot.

HLM1 is played primarily for its gameplay.
HLM2 is played primarily for its storyline.

Once I accepted the difference I was able to enjoy both games on their own merits as two separate experiences.

[edit]

Ironically, my favorite character in HLM2 (storyline and playstyle) is the pacifist, Evan.

I think you hit the nail on the head, actually. I know HM1 definitely has its flaws and I acknowledge them, I guess I just enjoyed it more because I finished it in one sitting and felt so satisfied at the end. HM2 really was a challenge in some places, and I had to take a few days to finish it. The game has way better gunplay than HM1 and it really required you to use stealth more, but I guess that's the reason why I prefer HM1 as well. I loved the close encounters, the visceral combat, running through the stage obliterating anyone who stands in my way, it was just so much fun. There was strategy in HM1, but 2 took it to another level and I think you're right in saying that it's not just HM1 in a different skin. Most of the stages take place in wide open areas, and you really had to create a plan and sometimes you were forced to mix it up. There was a rush I felt whenever I got past an area I was struggling in and made it into the next foreign area but feeling that fear of fucking up because I would have to restart from the beginning. You had to be super cautious in HM2 until you learned the level and now that I think about it, I actually kinda like that.

I'm definitely gonna have to replay them at some point here soon, i'm curious to see how my opinions will change. Also, I had no idea there was a level editor, could you explain that to me?

Found this on /r/Fallout and believe that it is relevant.

Enclave corporate-space-Nazi DLC confirmed.
The evil Nuka-cola corporation has joined forces with the Enclave and Vault-Tec in order to distribute diabetes causing fizzy drinks across the wasteland, only you can stop them!

I want that to be a real thing, just so that I can see the Bethesda Apologists try and defend it.

Nuka Cola as a "space theme" in this game. From the bottles being shaped like rocket ships...
I thought the bottles were missiles (Nukes) because of the name "Nuka Cola".
Fans have been asking for a space themed DLC.
That is why the favourite Fallout 3 DLC is Mothership Zeta. *Sarcastic mode is now off* :lmao:
Trainwiz, a popular modder that has been stated to be Bethesda's favorite modder, is currently making a theme park mod. I don't think Bethesda would make a theme park DLC while their favorite modder is already making a mod for one.
Bethesda couldn't care less what mods modders make, unless the mods are popular enough that Bethesda has to steal the mods' idea and make their own DLCs (Automaton DLC anyone?).

This guy/girl is totally oblivious...

Man, I'm really worried about Wasteland Workshop #2 and #3.

Are there enough assets left that are already in the game for them to recycle/"unlock" like they did with #1 so as to avoid creating new ones ? Will we get more hardly functioning features that are basically glorified console commands like we did with the Arena?

All these questions are driving me mad :(

As for the "Nuka World in Space" speculations, I thought it was pretty clear that the bottles are fashioned after NUKES hence Nuka Cola. So that theory kinda falls a bit flat. But heck, we've all seen Beth doing dumber things so who knows.

This was found in the files of fallout 4. Apparently Bethesda, yet again, has not learned from their mistakes and is releasing TWO more Wasteland Workshop DLCs (keep in mind, even most of the people who like Fallout 4 hate the first one). This is not officially confirmed yet because it was found via datamining along with references to a "Nuka-World" DLC, but I bet the three going to be revealed at Bethesda's E3 conference.

Also, this is my first time posting on this site, so please be a bit gentler on me.

I saw the original reddit post. The two WW's are probs place-holder names. The real speculation is Nuka world.

Maybe it's an anagram.
War On Kudl

Cuddle.
War On Cuddle.

I got it! It's a teddybear pose extravaganza.

Edit. Nintendo seems to be the only company who releases consoles that have their games and aren't plagued by industry trends, but they are sadly in the shit and might not survive the next ten years without help.

Nintendo's the only video game company left from the 80s that isn't some vagabond game developer like Sega or Atari. They still own all their properties and function completely independently. I think they'll do just fine continuing to do their own thing. I'll support them as long as they make games. Mario, Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kirby, Metroid, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Xenoblade Chronicles, Bayonetta, Splatoon, Smash Bros, etc etc. They have so many different games they can churn out. Yet unlike, say, Ubisoft, who tries to release a game every single year and it just gets worse and worse, Nintendo actually still cares about their property and are usually very careful when it comes to pumping out games too fast. I respect them for it. The only time I can remember Nintendo trying to milk the cow is with the "New" Super Mario Bros line of games. They're all basically just the same game with different maps and some new power ups.

Plus, Nintendo actually makes really really good DLC. Example: Mario Kart 8 has 2 expansion packs that add 16 new race courses, 6 new characters, and a color wheel for both Shy Guys and Yoshis, all for only 20 dollars. 16 tracks = half the amount of the base game's tracks. It's insane.

Meanwhile with other triple A companies like Bethesda, they're now giving us DLC like Automatron, which is maybe an hour of quest content + lots of random scavenging for robo parts for 10 dollars. Basically something that should have been in the base game to begin with.

Or Far Cry Primal's Wenja Pack, where you can pay 7 dollars to be able to become a mammoth and a couple new weapons.

Yeah, I haven't really bought a Nintendo Console in a while (The last one I bought was a GameCube, then again it was last year I finally decided to get with the times.
In all honesty, the only games I've really seen that do DLC well in the last couple of years are the guys from CDProjektred and From Software. That reminds me, I must pick up the Witcher 3 Season Pass at some point.

The more I think about it, the more I would not be surprised that Nuka World's either more workstation or a quest/crafting DLC. Too many people are over-speculating, shooting for the moon, just like they did with Fallout 4 and the DLC they've released so far. I'm still peeved that they had the gall to up the season price and then spin it like it's a gift to the fans. Like the change in value are the same. Instead of a forty dollar package at thirty, here's a sixty dollar package at fifty. It's a worse deal, and only a fool would not see that. Unless they did something like release a few DLC that are significantly larger, closer to a real value, it's gonna be just more filler.

It's a DLC, and the boss is confirmed to be Sierra Petrovita, that's right, the very same one from girdershade, and she took a lesson from dave and started her own republic and it's going to be in florida. (similar to disneyworld)

Uh, Cruddas, could you link a source or are you being sarcastic? It's genuinely quite hard for me to tell.

Oh haha, i was being sarcastic, sorry for the late response, I just felt it was not beyond Bethesda to do something like that since they brought the idea of the mechanist back, why not the nuka quantum challenge too? But on a much larger scale.
