Ugh. (TES V)

OK, let me try to put it in the equation:

Fallout3 with swords = The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with guns with swords.

Sounds just right, my dear colleague.

I think there was a rumor that the next Elder Scrolls would take place around Skyrim, but it's just a rumor. There really isn't definite information about the next Elder Scrolls game.

I hope so. Most of the time, the snow level is my favorite level in a game. Hoth in Star Wars Battlefront, Cliffhanger in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Eridian Promontory in Borderlands, etc.

It's like I have a snow fetish or something.

I'd like to see a TES game in Hammerfall (I know that there's a spin off there). Or, a return to Morrowind to see how things worked out there after Tribunal occurred. They gave some hints about it in Oblivion, but not much.

Well I got the new book, and poor Morrowind was destroyed. First Dagon's forces killed off House Redoran and Indoril in that invasion. Then, because the good ol' Nerevarine sapped his powers, Vivec got kidnapped by Daedra. Then that giant moon that was floating about Vivec fell because Vivec the person wasn't there to keep it floating. And it retained it's momentum, causing an earth-shattering kaboom. And then the Argonians came in and began kicking the shit out of the Dunmer that remained in revenge for years of Dummer enslaving them.

Unless they rebuild in 160 years (the rumored time in which TES V will occur), than there's a 99.9% chance you are not revisiting Morrowind.

That's too bad... I rather enjoyed the swampy place. Although, knowing that the cliff racers are now extinct may make up for that.

I got more bad news. The cliffracers were already extinct, thanks to Saint Jiub. So the moon didn't do anything good.

But hey, Black Marsh, Elsweyr, the Summerset Isles, Skyrim, or Hammerfall are open.

Well, devastating Third World War resulted in our beloved Fallout!

Now something devastated Morrowing! Go-go-go to Vvanderfell to see those craters and bunch of radiated angry Daedric beasts!!!

as long as they use a new engine for it

I don't see them changing engines anytime soon. They just like to add on to the Gamebryo engine. Production Director Ashley Cheng said that "a major reason many projects are delayed or never ship is because the developers decide to start from scratch. Games these days cost way too much for that kind of reboot. For most programmers, it’s easier to write new code than to read old code -- it takes a lot of discipline to selectively upgrade parts of your technology and to maintain others."

They had this same engine since Morrowind. It's time to move on, and get a better engine.
That doesnt mean that much though.

It really isnt that important what kind of engine they use. Important is how much they want to work with it. I mean Half Life 1 used in many parts code still from Quacke 1.

We have seen what Bethesda has done from Morrowind to Oblivion and both games had a lot of issues who knows how many quests could not be finished cause of some obscure bug in Morrowind not to mention Oblivion which was even worse. Not to mention Fallout 3 which surprisgnly had some bugs that been already present in Oblivion ! So they did 3 games with almost the same engine and same time and by now they should be already EXPERTS with everything around it. And still they could not manage to release a bug free game ... I would even go so far to say that Fallout 3 was broken on the x-box. But well thats my oppinion.

I doubt that even with a new engine anything would change with a new TES game. What Bethesda eventualy needs to change is some of their staff not the engine.

Morrowind was actually a good setting.

Not only that, you could tell that a lot of time and effort were put into the making of the game world. All of the little nooks and crannies, interesting side stories and so much brown.

The mythology behind the TES games has always been enjoyable... it's just too bad that the gameplay was so watered down in TES IV (although some fans claim the watering down began in MW).

I said it before and I'll say it again, Morrowind was awesome. It was really buggy though. I've never used the console so much in any game before or since.

Actually, Fallout 3 is about as buggy.

I think it did. I never played Daggerfall but it seems it had a lot more skills and use for it. Even some for languages if I remember correctly. Most of that has been removed.

I've loved MW for good background story. Not only good because of "it sounds awesome", but also because it always give much ways to add something. Some good modders used that and made good global mods i must say. And look: none of them will conflict with Oblivion or TES V, even if it will be of Vvanderfell again! That i name "A GOOD background story".

Second personal prize goes to design. While Oblivion was shiny because all things were SHINY, MW hasn't so much shaders and other stuff. But water, beachs, those tree-mushrooms. Athmosphere made NOT by shaders or AA, or abother butt-kicking technology, but by careful and lovely design. If you ever been at Ghostfence - can you say it isn't nice? The whole capital city in Oblivin didn't made me enjoy it so much, as did this simple and athmosperic structure...

Ohh, do we speak about TES V?
I heard (from some russian forums and such), that game will take some action on Vvanderfell, and player even will see Nerevar (but not being it himself).
Saint Jiub? I'm writing some "book" around MW storyline and... For 2 years i can't find HOW this "saint Jiub" appeared. Almost no information on "prisoner Jiub = saint Jiub?", also can't find who ever made this legend... If someone knows - i will be glad to know...
