Actually, you just reminded me of something I wanted to change. All kids will steal the candy, but only one will die from it. I will add this code to Tubby's other kids as well.

The death animations for the kids, don't work sometimes. Put you cursor over the kids to see if one is dead. If it ends up in his store, that's a bug.

Ok I think I really fed myself on this after reading previous questions regarding vault 14.

The special encounter, with the key card happened WAY before I found out where vault 14 was located I believe.

(the keycard with the red arrow right, found on one of the two dead mutants you find there)

Well I died and reloaded that save and realized after I left the area I didn't loot the card. Is that encounter the one I needed to get the card, and if so will it re-spawn like the cafe? (well cafe only re-spawned because I avoided it...) If thats the situation man did I f myself out of some more fun.


Also I'm not too sure about this information that is following so I'll report my glitches I've had and maybe shed some light on them.


My first problem on the mod, which made me save every screen, was that sometimes when loading new areas it would crash out hard. Mainly it does that when I enter Vault city's interior. I was running failfox at the time for an other purpose, so after eliminating its memory hogging powers I discovered it doesn't happen near as often. (well excluding the occasional vault city issue)

Secondly just happened when I used mr fixit.
It was stuck on my screen. I couldn't click any option at all. So I fixed that by saving in a different slot, and restarting fallout 2 allover. (not reloading a save, which I found out it kept the mr fixit screen logged in memory, I had to fully restart fallout 2)

I'm not doing every quest as of yet, sorry on that one, I'm doing a power play to see everything I can and explore new areas. I know I know its cheap, but I'm interested in seeing the bulk of the new content fast, not so much as in the quests. Lets face it I hate playing fetch or kill quests over and over.

Bunker 21, nice addition.
The Star Trek Ship actually having a phaser, very nice. (I'm not sure if it was re patched when I bought my copy or if it was in this mod, I started playing fallout and fallout 2 years ago, but bought a set dvd from online :] )

A few answers.

Regarding the special encounter with the keycard, it is set to happen after you have spoken to the character about the relevant topic. It doesn't matter if you have located it yet. The item you mentioned is the correct keycard. And if you didn't take the card, you are out of luck, as you won't get that encounter again.

I have heard of the Vault City crash. Crashed for me, too. So, I removed two files trying to find the cause and I could enter Vault City (inner city) just fine (see the technical thread for more details). But then, after I put those two files back, I was still able to enter Vault City over and over and never had a single crash.

As for the other program causing a crash, nothing I can do about that. However, it doesn't really surprise me. There was at least one person who said his antivirus software prevented him from running it.

Never had any issues with Mr. Fixit, so I can't really address that issue you had.

As for the phaser, that was not in the regularly patched game.
 
Ok awesome I'll check the help file for the vault city issue.

I didn't think the phaser was in the original but my memory's a tad rusty.

I only had the fixit issue once and it was a simple fix, well it was more like crap I might as well save and see if I can reload it in an attempt to not start all over. xD (my last save was some 30 game days prior)

I'll try and recreate the issue and see if I have any luck.

Thats my luck on the key card....damn my lack of attention.

Hmm this version doesn't give an option to save and continue playing.

Damn and I really wanted to go back to the cats paw and get a little something something.

Corrected. All of Tubby's kids have the same script, and it is now possible to get any of them (there are four) to steal the candy. I also added a dialog feature to just be able to give them the candy.

What? This should not have happened. The game should save and continue, and only quit when you say.
 
Nope I let credits roll and it flashed at the fight in the Enclave and went to the main screen sadly.

I wonder if I installed it wrong?

I'll try another fresh install and try again.
 
I misunderstood. You meant when you 'won/completed' the game... not just saved it. I don't know what could have happened. I didn't do anything to affect that. After it goes through the consequences for the areas, it asks you if you want to continue playing. You just gotta be sure to hit 'yes'. I think the 13 year time limit still applies.

Getting into the bunker... I thought I fixed this. Pay attention to the dialog. Are you alone? And, have you done something to make yourself an enemy of the Brotherhood?

The base in the ocean was a bug. It has been moved to the coast.

I have these 'problems' too. The BOS base is in the ocean on my game, I had assumed you would need a vertibird to fly there since the BOS man in SanFran told me I couldn't get there by foot? (this is with V. 2.32)

Also the BOS bunker is bugged for me too. I am a friend to the BOS, but these guys ask me who I am, I can't tell them(there are only 2 options - Leave or Kill them), so they make me leave.

I have found a way to get in by working for the Abbey, but the dialog is bugged and can lead to a 'crash' of sorts where the dialog screen goes all funny, and if I approach them on my own It lets me in, but the only text I see is 'Error'

I have a question about the Abbey, I'm at a bit of a cross roads with them. See I got the mission to acquire a certain set of plans for them, but several other people also want these 'plans' too. If I give the plans to them, will I be able to give the plans to other people later on?
Such as the BOS or the Shi? (Id like to be able to use the memory modules I have picked up)

P.S. This is my first post, hello to everyone.. Isnt Fallout 1+2 some of the best games ever ? :)

I have this bug which stops me from leaving the toxic caves area, is thsi normal? ( I have spent 3 days searching for info on this, the only thing I found was on a polish/russian sit, and I don't speak Polish or Russian :) )
 
Cheers, found the solution for t6he Toxic Caves bug, but didn't see anything related to the BOS bunker location.

For anyone else with that Toxic Cave problem, here is a solution that works for me and some others. Save your game there (at the toxic caves), then exit the game, restart the game, and reload from your save, now it should work fine.

P.S., @MIB you could have told me that the info was on the very last page ;)

EDIT// OK I found something about the Bunker on page 9 of the tech issues thread, The fix is on the way in the next update yes MIB?
If it's just a matter of switching 2 numbers around, I might have a look myself, but I wouldn't really knoiw which files to begin looking in ;) Any pointers?

Gimme a few hours. When I get home from work I'll tell you which file to modify. It really is an easy fix.
 
No, it is a bigger error than I thought. Originally I placed the location on the wrong part of the map. But, even if you could have gotten there, I still missed something: I forgot to move the location to fit the Megamod. If you had gone there, you would just have gotten the black screen with the repeating cursor and player or the 'hall of mirrors' error. I have more work to do on this area, unfortunately.
 
Carson City: is there anything you can do there? All the dialogue either leads to nowhere or talks about stuff that doesn't make sense (I assume it's still in early beta stages). Also, can I complete that question for the Abbey where I have to hack into Carson City's computer? I open up that manhole under the rocks in the shack but it leads me to some black screen (corrupt files?)

Ugh. Another one. No, it's not corrupt files. Just another example of me not knowing what the intent of the authors was in the mod. I didn't know to change the information required on those maps, so, they are incorrectly called. Thanks for letting me know.

How about the Computer in NCR, is that all working right? I went there but couldn't copy the data, need a key or something but couldn't find it... Just to be sure, is that normal?
