Fallout 2 mod Unofficial MIB88 MegaMod Gameplay Help

Been a while

but I`m back to Fallout:)

Could some one help me how to link those dynamite stick found in Redding with a detonator?

Also got a question about few items and their function:
Peyote - glowing cactus// any purpose?
Scom Ears-
Devils Weed-
Shackles - made by the smith in Modoc

How many skill points of repair do I need in order to open the Enclaves "black box"?? Can Vic do it?

Where I can find Suliks sister?

Thanks

really?

so if i become a shaman...

i can't become a hunter?

to become a hunter i have to kill almost all the enemies in the temple then do the hunter quest? and to become a shaman i have to avoid killing as many as i can then do the shaman quest?

which is better... damn i wanted both... oh well too late i guess...

@ namad,
You can either become a shaman or a hunter, not both.

You can kill everything or nothing in the temple of trials, it doesn't matter.

If you wanna be a hunter, you talk to Lucas.
If you wanna be a shaman, you talk to Hakunin, the important thing is to kill the plants in his garden with the powder he gives you. If you kill them through battle, he wont accept you, but Lucas still will.

i left the temple of trials and immediately went to talk to

i left the temple of trials and immediately went to talk to the shaman.. saving before talking... he refused to let me be a shaman said i was too much of a warrior... (i killed things i didn't even need to attack and trigger a lot of traps and got myself poisoned before leaving and stayed poisoned etc...)

then i restarted the game and avoided as much as i could and talked to shaman and he said i could be a shaman....

same stats both times... SOMETHING you do in the temple does effect this i dont know what for sure as once i was max'd on things done and once i was like min'd...

NOTHING you do in the temple will trigger this. There are only 2 conditions: one of your stats, and how you deal with the plants. Pay attention to Hakunin's dialog. Though it is weird, he tells you what your problem is (either you cannot understand the spirit world, or else you take a warrior's approach to dealing with things).

@ AJ Rimmer Bsc.Ssc.
Nice map corruption you've got there. Sure looks like the "Too many items" bug, scroll down until you see it. I know that is for the Restoration Project, but it's still relevant for you.
The Megamod probably have more scripted items than the ones on my list, but start with removing those, maybe that's enough.

Where I can find Suliks sister? Exactly where?
Thanks

Peyote is just like the other plants... for the Shaman Perk.

The deal with the shackles has not been fully implemented yet. In a sense, though, it will be like rope. If you can use ropes to bind people (and make slaves), shackles will do the same (and not just for humans). Maybe there will be a mission to capture a super mutant or something...

You don't open the Black Box, you download the information to your PipBoy. I don't recall the repair level that you need to have at the moment, though it is probably in the guide. But you have reminded me: I will add the condition that if Vic is in your party you may download the information even if your Repair skill is not high enough.

Ok, the two questions that are killing me! :-)

1) How can I turn off the weather? I don't mind the visuals (except for the all green screen one) but the hits to perception mean I actually lose dialog options!

2) Does attacks by Kaga ever end? If not, how can I turn them off? He is absolutely 0 threat to my party (well, maybe just a lucky full auto crit) but he just... keeps... coming. It slows down the game a ton. :-/

Anyways, thanks for your help! I really appriciate it!

Re: Ok, the two questions that are killing me! :-)

1. I don't have the files in front of me now, so I can't tell you precisely what to do. However, you can turn the weather mod off by opening up the sfall file and turning it off somewhere in there.

2. Um... Kill him! There is a level cap, though. Once you are of a certain level and you encounter him, he will no longer run away. This encounter is bugged, though. It isn't the Kaga encounter of the RP... yet. However, if you kill an earlier version of him, he will not come back. Once he's done, he's done for good.

Hmmmm... There is a TON of neat stuff in there, but I can't find anything to do with the weather mod.

As for Kaga... sweet! I FINALLY just killed him!

Let me know if you remember where that weather toggle is! Thanks for all your help! Its a really great mod!

Ok, I found a file called weather and made some changes based on my understanding of the structure, setting all type "a" entries to =0 (which seems to mean no weather). I hope that would work.

Next question - I have a scope and a hunting rifle. Who can bolt them together for me! :-)

On the same note, I learned how to do tanning and I have the sewing kit... err, but how do I make anything? Why do I use or what keys do I hit? Neither the skins nor the kit are usable! Thanks!

And another one... I blew the trapdoor away at cold hearts farm so that the ladder is exposed... but I still get the message that there is broken wood preventing me from getting to the ladder! What am I to do at this point to get down the hole?

When trying to craft items right click on yourself and click on the binoculars icon.

I dunno anything one the second one tho.

Don't blow it! Picture of the trapdoor will be away, but for game it will be still there. You need to use an oil on the trapdoor lock (use your cursor to find it) and then you can open it

Couple of questions

1. The megamod should be installed on a clean installation of FO2 v1.0, correct?

2. After starting a game, I get a error message regarding weather mod, something about shader issues. Is this a game breaking error? I'm fine without it, but if its game breaking I'll appreciate help on how to resolve it

1 - Yup

2 - You didn't turn on directx in sfall file. It will allows you to see "weather", but weather will lower your PE - and that's bad...

@ TheZenCrane,

1. To remove the weather mod you must delete all the weather specific files and folders:

- weather.ini {file}
- scripts\gltsrain.int {file}
- art\stex {folder}
- shaders {folder}

2. People who could do weapon modifications before will still do them. All that is different is that you need the proper parts first.

3. Shrytu is right. Use the binoculars on yourself to bring up the Mr. Fixit screen. Everything you have learned how to do is done from that screen.

4. As Tom9k said, the trap door in Modoc is bugged if you use explosives on it (from a much earlier post someone made). Use oil on the upper right corner, then repair skill until the door opens.

@ mongerman,

I could never get the weather to work, but you could check this thread for info that might help: Rain?
