I assume you mean hakunin's quest to become his apprentice?

it's pretty staight forward quest though the time limit is pretty unforgiving.

you need to do couple things....
-get the quest just before you leave arroy
-raise karma to 30 or above
-be back before some date I don't know (not much more than what it takes to travel to klamath and back without delays which means no sleeping which leads to no fighting)
-be able to take care of the accused of cheating quest because hakunin won't proceed untill that has been dealt with (and this comes active once you visited klamath and came back)

I don't remember which quest I did in order to raise karma above 30 but I do remember that I didn't have to hurt anyone doing them. (and I did the "rescue smoke the dog" quest before taking hakunin's quest

klamath should have atlest the help the unintelligent tribal quest (can't remember his name) and you can loot+steal+trade your self armor which helps nicely in the possible fight (cheating quest, even if you kill the opponent in this it won't spoil the hakunin quest)

for myself I stop searching and been to Redding to get one in miner camp... :|

Does someone know how to make sharpen spear??
I've had the training but how du I use the spear and the flint together??
 
Whats the shaman addition then? If you pick the different premade characters does each one give you different options/story line/abilities etc? Ive made a custom character, will that change anything?
 
cold hearts ransom metzners mom,

english bob sends me on the quest and says he gives me explosives.

i dont see any

i did it anyway,and when i get to metzner i throw mom down and no explosives,and a battle starts.

get back to bob and he says nevermind and now no-one at guild will give quests ????

a bug?




also cant get the miner mcgrew at redding to come do the tunnel ???
no dialogue for it

presumably the quests you can get are affected by your skills/stats, I too made a custom char (unlucky, weak and all others high) and tagged speech since it has lots of uses. and got the shaman quest (which enables you to make use of plants, new kinds of drugs to be exact....too bad I havent used any of them)

on the other hand the master warrior says I'm too crappy fighter to learn from him (not a suprice since my unarmed and melee are somewhere below 50%)
 
SO if you use a cheat char with the SPECIAL at 10 and with the skills at 100 will you get all the quests?

I hate not beeing able to do a game at 100%

probably not as it's impossible to be good and bad at the same time.

and it's just as likely that there are other mutually exclusive quests out there too, like being a warrior shaman sounds impossible combination for example (not sure if it is though).

no dialogue for it

YOu need live explosives in your inventory to stop him from attacking you. Find some dynamite and try again.

no dialogue for it

YOu need live explosives in your inventory to stop him from attacking you. Find some dynamite and try again.

i tried that...but the minute you activate them,you drop them and everyone attacks.
edit: just tried it with activated dynamite = still "oops i did have" and all attack
tried it with plastic exploosive = same thing
in hands,in pack always gets the "oops i did have it" message and all attack.

it seems that english bob is supposed to give you a different type of explosives ,but when he says he gave them,theres nothing there.

edit 2: did have a thought,maybe english bob is the snitch and set me up,but as i said,all dialogues are empty and theres no one to talk to at thieves den,just the one with bob about metzger attacking me and me killing him,even if i didnt kill him and ran away.

seems to be a lot of errors happening lately,completed missions not being struck out of pip list,miner dialogue for modoc tunnel not there with mcgrew.
i had a cellar in reno to investigate that just popped into pip list with no fore-dialogue to it.




will it affect the rest of the mega mod if i just leave the thieves quests and move on ?
if so,what will it affect ?

There are some issues with the Thieve's Guild in the latest version of the Megamod, but not like the ones you mentioned. As for Metzger, try this one: carry a grenade. I always had them on me, and that might mean only the dialog needs to be corrected. Who knows: maybe there is a speech/intelligence requirement too, also necessary in order to carry out this assignment. If you still have an issue completing the task, please let me know. But if the problem persists, you may be encountering a bug no one else has encountered and can't reproduce (it has been known to happen). To skip the rest of the Cold Hearts' missions will not affect the rest of the game.

As for the miner...look at the name. Did you talk to Megrew? Or McGrew? How did you even know who to talk to? Did you read this thread, or were you just looking through dialogs? And you have to actually be assigned the quest before you can just go off and get the miner. Have you been assigned the quest, or were you just deciding to do it on your own? You don't really need to answer these questions. I am just asking you to think about these before you continue...or decide not to continue.
 
Hm, don't know if this is a bug or something, but I seem to be having a good amount of trouble lockpicking the locked door in the temple of trials. It's been taking a a lot of tries to get through, and I don't remember having this problem in the unmodded version. I've had trouble with every character I've used, including one with a tagged lockpick skill over 60%. I usually turn the difficulty to easy for the skill boost, which seemed to help with a few characters, but right now I'm using a guy with 37% skill (on easy mode), and I've been going at it for a good 5 minutes with no success. Am I missing something in the side rooms? Is there any other way around?

you might be right...i did get a dialogue to build a tunnel,but no pip entry to do it,may be someone i need to talk to to get the actual quest. [though i have talked to all concerned...i think ?,did mean mcgrew,as i havent found a megrew yet.]

update : i did it..it took 2 mentats,xtra charisma point,speech 105,1 armed dynamite,1 armed plastique.

so happy i walked off to the car and forgot about the armed explosives.... :crazy: ..will reload after i scrape my inards off the church walls :lol:

now..how do i get the miner quest...pretty please :wink: :twisted:

you dont pick it....

its one of the treats to the mod,check what gear you found and examine the door closely
