I love the idea of a "Vault Boy Awareness Day" day for June 1!

It makes sense, sure, but are there any proof that confirms this? Any quotes/interviews from Boyarski or something like that?
 
I still don't get it. :( Would somebody please make a mod for Oblivion in wich are inserted Valutboy and Pipboy and, drop me in the middle of the forest and then mark them on my compass? I will follow the compass and reach them in turns several times...this way I'll get it...please?

Sheesh... :roll: You write a friggin' short and simple article to make things clear for once and for all, it gets published on a dedicated fansite after being proofread by people who know what they're talking about, and you still find some %@#§$£ who asks for "proof". The article should be proof enough now. But hey, don't believe me:

Anyone can write an article about anything and claim it as truth. "It-is-so-because-I-say-so-mentality" isn't really a good basis for an article. So, I don't see any real reason to get upset just because I ask for something quite elementary... That link served as reference nicely.
 
While possible it's highly impropable...

Btw, how come Chris Avellone wasn't aware of the differences between Vault Boy and Pip Boy?
 
I never called Vault Boy "pipboy"... I did however call him Fallout Boy. *punches himself with weighted punching gloves* Thank you for making me realize my error.

I did call the pipboy "pipboy" and he did remind me of some hamburger joint mascot just couldn't place my finger on it.

I remember Tim Cain calling him FalloutBoy, I just can't find the interview (damn trillion bookmarks), but Leon should have the last word on that detail.
 
Fallout Boy would be a mascot for the Fallout franchise. Which he is not.
He's a mascot for the Vault Tec franchise.
 
I can't find the other interview, for a while we were calling it FalloutBoy here at NMA because of it. I just can't find it, oh well.

As if the quotes from the art director were not good enough, they've taken pics directly from the game. If that's not enough proof for you then fire up your own copy.

I for one am glad this argument is put to rest. I've seen this argument ongoing for a while now and stayed out of it because I hadn't researched it myself. I didn't want to misspeak and have it detract from my falloutyness.

How was Boyarski's quote not good enough when I said "That link served as reference nicely"? The quote was served *after* I asked for proof NOT before.

Yes, there's a pic that confirms that the little redheaded kid is christened PipBoy. There was and has never been no doubt of that what-so-ever... Perhaps my mental capabilities are a little bit underdeveloped, so please, go ahead and eloborate how a picture of PipBoy confirms that the other little bugger is called VaultBoy.
 
the funniest thing is that all over the nma site vault boy is refeard to as pip boy.. just look at the gallary.. all the pictures of vault boy is refeard to as pip boy ;)
