When I'm getting the Internet, I want it to be UNLIMITED Internet, and TBH the company has no right to limit my freedom of speech. If they can get the legal system bring action against that shithole, then all the better, but I'd say outside the country's government, nobody should have the right to block content. Because next, there will always be some religious fanatic pricks who'd like to see something else banned, ad infinitum. Who knows, NMA could be next, for it's a forum discussing games involving child-killing, extreme violence, prostitution, drugs, cussing etc etc. There's no way a disgusting thing like that should exist, and we should ban everyone from using it. Glory to the Lord (or whoever the fuck else).
Seriously, it's sometimes scary how much influence China has on the US.

So I cant see the real reason to ban 4chan, since it doesnt force you to enter into it. Its a kind of "I dont like you, and my friends dont like you either, adios" resolution that the company did.
I swear i'm the only person left in the world that uses a cellphone to make a call. I actually have Verizon and they've screwed me over a lot less than other phone companies.
Verizon is a Tier 1 ISP, which means a fairly large part of the shared parts of the internet goes over their uplinks and so on.Sander said:Verizon is a private company offering a service. They are not just going to block something because they just feel like it.
SuAside said:Now, I presume Verizon only blocks 4chan for their subscribers, but by your logic, what is stopping Verizon from blocking 4chan on all their infrastructure?
Actually they don't (in the US), it qualifies as an anti-competitive practice. It's the same reason that Verizon can't block ATT, Google, Microsoft, or NMA.Sander said:Verizon is a private company offering a service. Although perhaps the (total failure that was) the sale of 3G frequencies gives Verizon a few more responsibilities.
they could pay a fine and from then on no longer sign any contracts that do not exclude 4chan.TheWesDude said:the judge who finds them in breach of contract
Crni Vuk said:what the hell is "4chan" ?
Yeah, what he said. ^ It's a slippery slope, and I don't trust them (or any company, not to mention government) to not jump off, cackling madly.Crni Vuk said:cencorship is never a good thing. Regardless if the target of the cencorship now is the most stupid source of informations or a valuable free political platform.
