Want to work for Interplay?

Interplay is actively recruiting again, as can be seen on gaming developers site Gamasutra. Right now the jobs list includes Environmental Concept Artist, System Designer and Content Designer.

More interesting is that Jason D. Anderson is listed as the contact guy, which would make him the Human Resource manager and in charge of who he works with.

Better not count on a good income!

How long do you think till they change their website design? :)

Don't be stupid, there has to be a good reason Jason D. Anderson decided to work there.

weird that they only look for guys for those few positions...

They're only looking for those positions through Gamasutra. It's not like Gamasutra is the sole way to find game developers, so who knows who they're looking for, where and how many people they already have?

They might be looking for anything, so if your dream is to work on a Fallout MMO, there's the mailing address.

The lulz.

I'd rather stab myself in the nuts with a salt covered ice pick.

p.s. and I'm no longer an NCsoft developer, for those of you keeping score at home. I just wanted to point that out.

I *just* changed your rank.

As for the stabbing yourself in the nuts bit, yeah, well...

Maybe that'll be Interplay's new employee policy. You have to stab yourself in the nuts with a fork every fifteen minutes.

Oh god the pain! I'm reminded of the "this is your brain on drugs" scrambled eggs commercial from the 90's

As far as I know, Jason worked as a estate agent after the disband of Troika. Given that the current situation of estate market in US is bad, not surprise he will go back to game industry.

But more surprise is that he rejoined Interplay

With desperate coders eating pot noodles and promised profit margin percentages form their work rather than regular pay they might pull off probably the biggest rabbit out of a hat trick in gaming history...

However it could also wind up all over their faces, but at least we can hope for a more canon compliant MMO than a crpg, however we can only dream at this point.

Not a lot of companies will offer you a position of division head/project leader/human resource manager with creative control and control of who you hire.

That's pretty sweet, actually.

The one good thing about quasi-dead companies is that all the top positions tend to be up for grabs.

hmz, i should send in an application for sys admin. :P

but i'll doubt they'll pay for my relocation, let alone get me a green card. ^^

the most interesting parts in the job descriptions:

Wouldn’t Hurt to Have:
• Familiar with the Fallout universe (Content Artist)
• Familiarity with the Fallout universe and SPECIAL system (System Designer)

and the contact guy is Jason Anderson... Looks like he might work on Fallout MMO then. or he's an hr guy

It would just be so neat if Interplay actually managed to turn things around and make a really good game for the first time in years :D

I don't expect very much from them, but I sure hope they'll surprise me

I'm waiting for a follow-up press release where they announce that the development team has been moved to India.

A turn based MMO is actually possible. Not that interplay would do that, but anyways.. A good example is Dofus. Not sure if anyone's heard of it but it gets boring after a while.

So yeah they "could" make a turn based Fallout MMO that "could" be good. But they won't.

I'm confident they'll hire me. :|

Luke: I'll stamp in asap.. one sec..
